Edey did score 37 points and grabbed 10 rebounds . Also blocked 3 or 4 shots so I would say he did his part . Also he got very little or no rest. That being said if UConn hadn't defended as hard as they did he would have got. 45 points so hats off to UConn. Painter would have been wise to sit Loyer down early in the second half and put someone taller and more physical in to help Edey and Kaufman underneath and maybe get a midrange basket. Purdue sure wasn't going to win it from the three point line.

@@bold58 Edey played a tremendous game in the National Championship game. Big men especially in today's modern basketball is a risk at the next level, but Edey will definitely go high in the draft. I will be curious how many teams may or will pass up on Edey. My prediction is Edey will most likely drop in the lap of a current playoff contending team in the NBA if teams pass him up. I hope Edey does not get selected to a bottom feeding NBA team.

They were 1 of 7 UConn took it away let the big have his. That’s how you beat Purdue and the best team in the country just showed us all how it’s done

UConn's defense was responsible for Perdue shooting awful from 3-point range. UConn's offense wasn't all that spectacular either from Perdue's defense. But UConn had a better overall roster and did enough to prevent Perdue's big man Zach Edey from receiving the ball at his usual comfort spots.

Right ! I think because Edey got very little or no rest it contributed to his tiredness on defense. Painter probably should have sat Loyer down 2 minutes into the second half and sent Furst who is 6' 10" in the help Edey and kaufman underneath. Might have stopped a couple of UConn baskets and made the game a little closer. Even at Purdue's Very best they would have maybe been even with UConn.

Yep longer guards and they pressed Purdue from no less than halfcourt. This prevented Purdue from getting into offensive rhythm, i was thinking the same thing.

The games were all ugly. If I were an NBA scout, I would honestly have difficulty picking any standout college players from all of this year's tournament games.
