The iron golem one is definitely true, I repaired one before seeing this video with no mods/ commands

Lava bucket does work but you need to place it 1-2 blocks up before you hit the ground

Snow layers don't count as air, so you can't spawn a wither in a snow biome or with any non-air solid block[solid as in not water or lava or air] below the arms
