Not nearly enough love for Suki. A badass warrior who is able to teach Sokka a valuable lesson about women, and constantly proves herself in a fight without bending (she scaled a prison wall by jumping over people to kidnap a prison warden, which is just so rad).

Harry Potter may have inspired me to write stories. But ATLA showed me what I wanted my stories to be. I love this show.

Not only is Avatar one of the best animated shows, I think it wipes the floor with all of the biggest live-action franchises, because it… · Doesn't deflate all its tension with jokes like the MCU · Didn't rush through most of its plot points and character development like Game of Thrones · Didn't devolve into pointless fan service like Star Wars · Hasn't been bogged down in prequel nonsense like Harry Potter and Middle Earth · And tells this exact story a thousand times better than whatever the hell Shyamalan came up with.

ATLA is the only anime I immediately rewatched after finishing it.

If you loved Avatar, you can get your fix from The Dragon Prince. I binged watched it this past weekend after Joe Starr said to watch it on 1 of the SJU shows last wk, & it is amazing. It's like a combination of Avatar & Lord of the Rings. It has a great story, lovable characters, goofy humor for the kids like Avatar did, but it's also very deep and something adults can enjoy as well. One of the more memorable scenes from the show is in season 2, when the king, a black man, talks about his dream for an ideal system of justice. It was a remarkably well-written scene, very relevant to real world events, & provides a deeper description of justice than I would ever expect to find on a "kids" show. The show also does an amazing job of embracing diversity, but does so in a subtle way, normalizing diversity & inclusion, which is the way the real world should be. Anyway, great show. I’ll be honest guys, haven’t watched anything SJU/Fandom in awhile. The world was falling apart and then Dan left and all the terribleness depressed me. But y’all went and made a bunch of Avatar stuff. You did it, I’m back in!

102: They Don't all spend the rest of their lives with their first crush though. Sokka in the show has his first crush taken from him, Zuko breaks up with Mei in the comics, and we do also see that in Korra as, where we see his daughter, firelord Izumi. Toph never really has a relationship in original show, the but it is implied the she crushed on Sokka, in Korra we learn that she neve kept any of her partners around for long though. Really Aang ans Katara are the only couple that stuck around all the way it seems. We never really learn anything about sokka and Suki (I think) but they don't seem to have had any children at least so its possible they broke up too.

It's an awesome series and the best television shows. Avatar The Last Airbender is one of the series where I can always rewatch.

I'm always afraid of rewatching this show. I've seen it over 10 times and it means so much to me as a person. But whenever I do sit down and watch it, it never disappoints. If it has aged, which it hardly has, it's aged like wine. I cannot wait to share it with my kids someday. And Korra too... I guess.
