Fairytales are something we’ve all grown up with… telling stories of fantastical kingdoms with often dark undertones… but, while most of them were created for entertainment, or to teach morals to children, many of the settings are, surprisingly, far more realistic. Most of the legends originated in Europe where, at the time, they were seen as fables based in real world places, and many of the villages that inspired these environments can still be seen today.
