My mint does amazing rain, sun, shade, overwatering, drought, heat, it's my best plant I bring it in over winter too and this year I mulched my bed before frost and it's 20 degrees outside and under the woodchips my mint is still alive.

Recommend growing any kind of mint in a container, because they're quite aggressive and spread underground.

Mint is a weed and really doesn't care. As long as you don't nuke it with too much heat, she should be just fine and dandy for years to come. Similarly to Rosemary, be sure to pick a designated section for these herbs exclusively. They both tend to take over, as they should. Happy gardening.

I love your garden and trees and chickens! Thanks for the tips! I grew up on a farm in a cooler, rainier climate and we gardened in the full sun. Living downtown now in a warmer climate, I have been gardening for two decades and have had so much trouble with things like basil, peas and Swiss Chard. It never occurred to me to move them more into a shady spot. I really appreciate this video and your advice!

I live in the interior of Alaska, normally doesn't get over 60 degrees, I love this video thank you for all your tips. The midnight sun hasn't been shining much this summer lots and lots of rain. I wish I had your chickens for my mosquitos

Thank you very much for this info. Last year I expanded my growing area into the shady parts of my yard. It's adjacent to a park with a lot of very large 100-year-old trees. As expected, some crops failed and some thrived. Hoping for better results this year. Kansas, USA. Zone 6b.

When he said you can grow lettuce in the summer if your summers aren't too hot and I thought he meant like low 80s but then he goes on and says "so like under 100 degrees"... yeah clearly he's not from where I'm from. :P

Also the south in high summer, but now it's humid too. I find if you pick it and leave in the fridge for a few days it gets less bitter (I guess the carbs convert to sugar like potatoes?)

In upper Northern Nevada high desert here .... yesterday at my place it briefly hit 120🥴🥵🥵 For over a week it was triple digits. Yeah, my plants 🌱 weren’t too happy 😥. Hello Jag, I want to thank you for making your videos although my daddy was a farmer I knew alot about growing things BUT I have really learned alot with the information you provide in your videos, my husband wont watch any other videos other than yours he says you really know your stuff and he’s building potato boxes so we can get our in the dirt. Great video! I experimented with bush beans in sun and shade this year. For green beans they produced almost the same (with the ones in the sun doing just a little better) but for dry beans the ones in the sun did WAY better.

I have a large non-fruit bearing mulberry tree also and I was hesitant to start a bed under the canopy, but now I think I'll try to grow in the partial shade area. Thanks!

This video was great!! Thank you so much. My neighbors tree is starting to really shade my garden. I like to grow big red beefsteak tomatoes but this year garden doesn’t get sun until noon. We will see how they do, but next year i need to find a sunnier spot. Great video!!!

I have 2 kiwis that cover a pretty large area with shade and I’ve been trying to figure out what to plant in the shade below them. I think I’ll plant some zucchini or yellow squash now. Thanks for the ideas!

I like how You share information based off of not only facts but also experimenting in your garden. I have watched several videos about this topic and your explanation of how the vegetables grow based off of how much sunlight they receive has really made you video stand out. I have a very shady area in my backyard and this video has been really helpful.
