Multiple Access - FDMA/TDMA/CDMA/OFDMA in 4G LTE
Multiplexing is the process of combining multiple signals and transmitting them over a common channel and it is implemented on telecommunication using Multiple Access as a Application.
Here, Multiple Access is explained with the example of Wi-Fi Hotspot sharing its internet connection among multiple users by providing them a frequency block over which they can transmit and receive data. The greater the size of this block, greater is the throughput.
There are several way by which we can use Multiple Access Technique such as TDMA, FDMA, CDMA, W-CDMA, SDMA, OFDMA, SCMA.
We have also mentioned, How TDMA and FDMA, CDMA, W-CDMA works and implemented in Earlier Generation system which is AMPS, GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSPA+.
To overcome issues faced in earlier generation such as,
- Low Throughput
- Low Spectral efficiency
- Resource wastage and many more,
We have introduce next Generation Multiple Access technique which is already deployed in WIFI and in WIMAX, but due to lack of backward compatibility and support for Mobile communication in WiMAX, Operator started to working OFDM to include in LTE.

Very informative, would be even more attractive if you used a real human voice (or a better voice) for the explanation rather than system voice which is monotonous to hear. But great animations and breakdown of concepts.

+Vishal Vudayagiri - Hi Vishal. Thanks for your valuable feedback. We tried using real voice. But due to lack of proper studio type environment and our accent, that idea had to be scrapped. Using two voices and a soothing background music were the only logical option we had; to break the monotony. Maybe in future we will use real voice. Till then bear with us. Happy learning.

from a tactical perspective (military) what are the pros and cons of FDMA v TDMA ?
@LTE4G

+meLLoxo as far as military use is concerned, both TDMA and FDMA are inferior to CDMA which was specifically designed for this purpose because of its spread spectrum nature and later gained widespread use in the public telecommunication domain.

Hi great video my name is David Adams I am the legal patent owner of 10 global patents my late father Andrew Brian Johnson invented the GSM 202 204 206 base station digital data transciever in 1989 whilst working for telecom Australia. He was under contract with Telstra as co-investors from 21/9/1993-21/9/2001 then he became soul owner of said inventor patent. 1 month later he died. In the same month 3G was released.24/10/2001. Then for 15 years Telstra have stolen sold and robbed my fathers legacy from his grave.. As I had no knowledge of my fathers achievements until I google searched him late last year. I'm still trying too understand a lot about the wireless packet concept as it's quite complex
