A multi-day severe weather outbreak is expected to unfold from Thursday (4/25/24) through Sunday (4/28/24), from the Great Plains into parts of the Midwest. Strong to intense tornadoes, very large hail, and strong damaging winds will be possible each day. I'll breakdown everything that YOU need to know in today's weather forecast!

Southeast MO myself just make sure you put as many walls between you and the outside as you can and cover your head with a helmet or a mattress whatever you got the majority of injuries and deaths in tornados is due to head injury

Yes. Although, Sunday is the day to watch for the potential for severe weather across Northeast Illinois. Damaging winds and hail would be the main risks from the storms that day. I'll keep you updated.

Warmer temperatures are coming later this week. This is the last frost and freeze of the season until Fall.

Below freezing temperatures are not unusual at this time in Minnesota. We are in a transition period (aka Spring) and large temperature fluctuations are typical of transition periods. We have had snow as late as May 5th here in Minneapolis, Minnesota if memory serves me correctly (5" to 8" on May 5, 1985 to be specific).

Saturday (4/27/24) and Sunday (4/28/24) would be the time to watch for severe weather across Southern Wisconsin. Damaging winds and large hail would be the most likely risks. Make sure to have multiple ways to receive severe weather watches and warnings. Friday afternoon and evening could be significant from Iowa south into Missouri. Damaging winds, large to very large hail, and tornadoes all possible.

Yes, most likely staying a Marginal Risk because the warm front will take time to move north on Thursday (4/25/24). Isolated severe storms capable of damaging winds to 60 mph and quarter-size hail will be possible. An isolated tornado will also be possible near the warm front.
