He has become a bit of a legend in Australia because we rarely win in The Winter Olympic and the guy trained really hard. There is an ice-skating rink in my city named after him.

The moment I saw the title, I knew it wouldn't actually be funny for me. Slightly amusing maybe but not outright funny since they usually spend 4 years between each of these events training their hearts out (literally) and for the ones that fall at the very beginning... it just breaks my heart. But they still pick themselves up and keep going. When I feel down, I watch athletes of any calibre train/compete and it really lifts my spirits to push myself and keep at it in the things I believe in. Thanks for the great compilation. :)

Some of the "fails" are not actually funny, I was an athlete before and I know how it feels. People may actually find it funny but those athletes have trained so hard just to be in that competition. That feeling of investing all your time and effort and failing when it matters most is actually heartbreaking :(
