Imagine a challenge where you leave Ethan to his own devices to buy some sort of budget car, no streetKAs though.

The think the simulation is unrealistically fast, there were parts the sim was flooring it in third, virtually going straight over grass verges to cut the small corners Alex in real life couldn't do this, he'd catch the first patch of grass with one side and spin out or tail slap after correcting More physics need to be involved in the game, Alex's time, in a near 16 year old car not built for a track, was phenomenal

That sim driver seemed like such a tool. It's easy to be smug, when you drive a simulated game, in a rwd car with about 20hp more and no consequences to worry about. In real life, i'm damn sure Alex would win by a mile!

I mean if he's a sim racer, surely he could have just chose a 182 as well? Also be funny to see him actually try it irl, seemed a big smug for a bloke who sat in a room racing with no consequences of crashing like Alex had.

Who'd have thought a more powerful car, driven by a professional sim racer, would be faster than a 16 year old Renault bought off Gumtree for £2000 with tired brakes, an exhaust leak and ditchfinders on the rears. edit: and got within a few seconds! It's actually really impressive.

I have to say, for a 16-year-old car with 110,000 miles it held up exceptionally well getting thrashed around a track lap after lap. Well done Clio. And even better news - it passed its MOT on the 25th of October 2020 so the guys are hopefully looking to keep it around!

really enjoyed this video was amazingly fun to watch so you need to do lots more like it. definitely deserve your own tv show as i have not seen anyone as good as Clarkson, may and Hammond but you guys are up there.

Just gonna mention he’s setting laps on Project Cars 3 which is arguably the worst game in recent times in terms of how realistic it is so probably not the best comparison to real life 😂

Alex you're killing it! Driving an old Clio which is not in peak condition yet managing to be a few secs behind a pro Sim Racer! Even casual sim gamers could not get that time in the wet! This episode reminds me of the top gear episode when Clarkson tried to match his speed taking the corkscrew in Laguna Seca Raceway in Gran Turismo with an NSX, it's close to impossible due to how the body is also thrown away side to side compared to do it on a stable seat in game

Caldwell park is a beautiful track. Also, that clio 182 sounds glorious.

Decent brakes and tires on that Clio would have easily shaved off the 5 secs.

at this point this is kinda top gear UK where Ethan is James May, Jack is Richard Hammond and Alex is Jeremy Clarksson but not fat.

A chair and a wheel on some high specked PC does not simulate a race track lap challenge scenario. Not even close. No g-forces, no risk, no nothing. You can't imagine how hard, how physically and mentally tiring it is to drive fast on a race track. You have to experience that for yourself. It looks easy, but it ain't! On a sim you only get some of the sensation, but nothing real. I've had a Logitech G27 in the past, it was really fun! But only when I went to the race track, in a real car, I realized what it actually took to drive a car fast! Great (actual) driving Alex!

I really like these 182’s and would love to buy one as a toy to fiddle with if I had the space for a third car. Not fast by modern standards but they’re cheap and lots of fun.

That was epic episode! I loved every detail there, specialy when Alex was mimicing Mike, had good laugh and i love the chosen track weapon! Renault is good sports car, I'm seeing you guys had a lot of fun, but defenetly what i wish to see here is pack up that Clio with new good sport tires, some good brakes and check it if it need service and do the challenge again! Also big fan of Logitech, i actualy have promised my best friend a full set of Logitech G27 back in the days, but this G923 is amazing! I should say that the gamer also had advantage because in video games, the car is always in 100% good condition at the start, so it means good tires, good engine, gearbox and all, and Alex just bought this beautiful Clio, and non service was done,nothing! Still i loved all about this episode! I was so nervous when he did the laps on the track, not gonna lie! I hoped you will win! Cheers mates, you are the most fun and interesting car channel there exist! P.s Alex i own a sweet e36 touring, but its 2.5tds with mods!
