327 yard drive on the 72nd hole...with a 43 inch steel shaft, an old Nike golf ball it was a fade with minimal roll. Probably a 315-320 carry. With today's equipment(2 inch longer graphite shaft, better golf ball, lower spin rates) it's an easy 340 carry. He was such a beast back then.

It was a 43.5 inch 7.5° Titleist 975D with Dynamic Gold X100 and Golf Pride Velvet Cord grip logo down, swingweight around D4. Plays traditional lofts in his irons, even now. He was longer with his irons than even the pros now, but he didn’t need to be. And at this point in his career, he played a still very spinny golf ball, not very forgiving. This was the greatest 20 month ride in Golf History. Tiger actually won 5 out of 6 majors from the ‘99 PGA to the 2001 Masters… Absolute GOAT stretch. 17 Tour wins in 20 months.

The golf journalism world is probably sick to death of the hyperbole (I distinctly remember Dan Jenkins in Golf Digest trying his hardest to temper the Tigermania in the mid-2000s, haha), but you're absolutely right. (It's also why he has a noticeable reverse pivot in his swing from this point forward - a testament to his talent that he still made it not only work, but competitive!) It further compounded with his driver "yips", and it combined with a general exhaustion from the pressures of the PGA tour.

What a phenomenal achievement! That will never happen again! Tiger is in my opinion the greatest of all time. Jack may have 3 more majors but Tiger has more wins and hit so many unbelievable shots exactly when he needed to. Tiger has a more complete all round game too, he has all the shots. I think Jack admitted himself he wasn't the best of bunker players. Love these old films, very inspiring and just fantastic to look back on great golf and achievements!⛳🏌️💪🏼

it´s the smallest thing really, but that putter toss from Steve Williams to Tiger on 11after that amazing approach shot, and knowing that Phil was still having to take a wedge in was such a boss move- this is why Tiger dominated the game so much back then - there were plenty of other great players around, but he was the MAN and let everyone know it.

J024 this was just an overstatement as this wasn’t even golf’s greatest moment at the time. Golf’s greatest moment is the 1997 Masters and it would take something earth shattering to ever change that. It’s still the most watched golf tournament of all time, and 2019 is meaningless without the parallel of 1997. I would say 2019 Masters is probably second.

WOW, I can't believe how much time has passed since this win at the Masters. I'm seeing names on the Leaderboard I haven't seen for years, which brings me back to 2021 and the many Majors Tiger has Won since! I get so caught-up in watching this video, like the other "Tigers Greatest Moments" video's I have in my Video Library I forget that 20 year's has passed since this Event/Video. I just hope that Tiger can recover enough to be able to play and play well. I'm not a celebrity news watcher so I don't know of how is recovery from his recent car accident is going or any statements he has made concerning his recovery and thoughts about if he will play more Tournaments. My hope is to see him play again which I guess is a bit selfish considering how many special moments he has given us all throughout his career, but I also wish him a Full Recovery, even if that includes him retiring from the game he loves so much, if that's what it takes for him to remain healthy. If it does mean retirement for him, we still have a Treasure Trove of video's online we can enjoy and re-live those Many Special Moments Tiger has given us. Thanks Tiger and Goodluck in whatever you choose to do after retirement.
