Brilliant strategy by Larry Brown. Kobe is an all time great and deserves all the respect in the world, but the Pistons used his selfish offensive play against the Lakers. They knew that by refusing to double Shaq the Lakers would repeatedly feed the big man and leave Kobe frustrated for not getting touches. This led to Kobe way too aggressive when he did touch the ball and completely stagnated the Lakers offense.
@damonmcmurray8669
@damonmcmurray8669 3 роки тому
What killed the Lakers is lack of ball movement and their roster was horrible over the hill G.P. and Malone, Deven George is trash. No triangle the whole series. Only person Kobe could pass to was Shaq nobody else was hitting shots . Kobe and Shaq with horrible role players. Role players always making plays hustling and making shots are what wins series

Kobe is the top 1 overrated selfish MJ imitator with lower fg%. He tried hard to prove he is more important than Shaq but failed. Seriously how could Lakers win while Kobe shoots all the balls with 38%fg Shaq was 63%fg and apparently the pistons were still no any idea how to stop him.

@abnuridd24
@abnuridd24 2 роки тому
@@richardhenry5858 I welcome that team but they were a little more top heavy in a good way. Dirk singlehandedly dismantled the Thunder on the way to the finals, no one could guard him and Ibaka was probably playing his best defense around that time and he would of had to be touched by an angel to have a prayer at guarding Dirk. Dirk wasn't fucking around then, Jason Kidd and Shawn Marion wasn't on the team that lost to the Heat back in 06. I don't even think JT was on that team. Also Lebron James allowed himself to get outscored by JT which is not okay. To me there are other narratives that surround the 2011 finals like an unexperienced Big 3. And to cap it off, I would take the 04 pistons against the 11 mavs in a 7 game series, their defense 1-5 is probably the best I've ever seen but that would be a hell of a series.

Most consecutive games holding opponents under 70, only team besides 98 bulls to hold a playoff team under 60, held 12 opponents to sub 40 shooting, 5 under 35%, least ppg allowed ever in a playoff game. David Starkey: I'm a lakers fan, and as soon as Karl Malone hurt his knee I KNEW the Lakers would lose to this defense. The one thing that you HAVE to do against suffocating defenses is get the ball to the high post, @ the free throw line. That was Karl Malone, & he did a great job loosening defenses up...and Kobe TRUSTED him. He made great decisions out of the high post. Slava Medvedenko was never going to fill those shoes, & so I knew, no Karl Malone, no Lakers title.
