I'm not sure which drugs you're insinuating that these guys take but I highly doubt they take steroids as that is not their bag. They aren't trying to LOOK strong which is what steroids do, they don't necessarily add strength and most of these guys don't have impressive physiques in terms of looking ripped etc. Pain killers are the only drugs that I can think of that could possibly cause harm but I'm not aware of any strong man competitors having addiction problems. And most don't seem to be any worse, physically than the general population as they age. Have you seen the video of Bill Kazmeir and Ver Magnusson competing this year? @@DEADTHENALIVE Most Fortnite players are literal children. Sure being strong helps in the everyday life of these strongmen, but their strength doesn't help society as a whole until they put it to use in an occupation. What they're doing now is entertaining us (which is what earns them the 72k), and that's exactly what fortnite streamers do, just to a much larger audience (hence the larger payout).
@DEADTHENALIVE5 років тому
@@jasontheranga9769 I get what ur saying, but u just watched a whole vid of strong dudes pushing a medieval slave device which was a real occupation of ppl in the past and lowered it to the hobby of playing a video game with a controller while drinking mountain dew on the couch... Wtf? All athletes are just underpaid fortnite players huh.
@jasontheranga97695 років тому
@@DEADTHENALIVE the wheel of pain was a prop in Conan... Its similar to a grain mill but it was never used as an actual torture/"slave device". I think you really underestimate the skills involved with being a popular streamer. Firstly, you've got to be really good at the game (but that's a given). As well as this you've gotta give actual decent commentary for hours on end which is easier said than done, you cant just sit in front of a screen for hours with your mouth hanging open and expect people to watch you. You've got to keep viewer retention. Additionally, you must interact with your viewers through the chat function and involve them in the experience, this is what usually draws people into watching streams in the first place. All of this while still doing well in the game. And you're doing this every day. I know it doesn't seem like much but until you've actually tried you don't know how hard it is. A stream isn't just a guy playing a game, its a performance. Comparing streaming to a guy "just playing video games" is like comparing formula 1 to a guy just going round in circles in a car. I'm not trying to say that being a streamer is harder than being a strongman at this level, i'm just saying that they both take real aptitude. In the end, it doesn't matter which one is harder anyway, its about audience. You can build the worlds best forklift that's miles ahead of anything else in the heavy machinery industry, but you're only ever going to sell to companies with forklift drivers. Your profits will never come close to the profits of the next mediocre Iphone with the target market of everyone in the first world.

A geeks point of view. Have a sensor on one of the wheels to measure the distance moved, incorporated with a timer that starts when it detects movement. After 1 minute it stops and reveals the distance moved. Distance measured can be stored/displayed electronically. You could even have it stop if movement has stopped for a certain amount of time, like 5 seconds as penalty/disqualification for taking too long to getting it going again. With this upgrade they can get rid of the laser/marker system and can start from any position without having to reset it back to the start. Honestly given some of their squat stats they could probably run it just a little slower than the average person, assuming they slimmed down and trained a bit. I mean just doing the math, the average male weight is 197lb and the average male squat stat is 285lb. Of course squats aren't the only factor in ones ability to run, and 197lb is a bit on the overweight side and really only average do to the obesity epidemic, so let's take it down to 150lb and bring the squat weight down to 248lb. That would mean that this person has enough strength in their legs to lift 98lb more than their body weight. Hafthor weighs 425lb, and his squat record is 970lb, meaning that at his best he has enough strength in his legs to lift 545lb more than his body weight. So it goes without saying that he has no trouble getting around. Of course muscle or not, his joints and ligaments would have a hell of a time, so running frequently would probably ruin his knees, but he could most likely run a mile every now and then quite easily.

In all my years, I never imagined this would become a reality! 🤙🏽

i remember when i was a slave and had to push a wheel like this from a young boy on until years later i was purchased and forced to do pit fighting for my new master.
@hiphophrc4 роки тому
That's lame. None of my masters had to force me for anything! 🙌

Loving this channel guys. This is the second year I’ve seen through this stream. I wish there was a better product connection with end user in this market!

When Robert E Howard made "Wheel of pain" a part of Conan mythos he certainly couldnt have expected it to become a part of competitive sports LOL

Holy shit, that was epic!! I had to screenshot Martins after he climbed that monstrosity and just screamed with his fist in the air. That was intense

I am sure he was trying to get into Thor's head.

And to think, in the movie, Conan did this kind of work all day every day for years and got bigger and stronger.
@zombiemechanic87384 роки тому
My instant thought was Arnold in Conan
@mcyucks99914 роки тому
Dude he was raised on the wheel of pain!
@rm2kking4 роки тому
Zombie Mechanic that would be because this is directly based on Conan. This is the Arnold competition after-all.

The wheel of pain is a strong metaphor and aspect to my life I appreciate and apply every day. What does not kill you makes you stronger. Thank you for sharing this!

Seeing this used in competition instead of in an iconic movie is pretty awesome.

The referee helping the athletes at the wheel is a super great person. His Father and him have the best Hardware store in all of Lancaster Ohio. Having a great inventory super prices and awesome customer service. It is called Slater's Hardware. They cast the Atlas stones there. Steve himself is a big, strong and fit man.

А. Новиков красава, продумано подошёл к упражнению. Выключил руки, переложил всю нагрузку на спину и толкал только ногами!
@grim30165 років тому
its only a matter of time before mateusz wins, you can see the rage in his eyes when he doesn't perform. Looking forward to seeing him compete year after year.
@highjim77784 роки тому
that wheel of pain is epic, striaght from the first conan film. They need the music in the background and an entire sport based around it! 5 attempts and whoever gets the furthest combined wins!

That grey haired guy pacing around with the athletes was my high school PE teacher, back when they valued that in schools. He also competed in this competition way back in the 80s I believe (for you have to be correct people, i know ot wasnt Arnold's). Cheers Mr. Young.

Put the athletes on opposite sides pushing in opposing directions, after one minute who ever moved forward wins. Set up a bracket leading to an ultimate champion of the event. The sheer power would be insane.
@JourneyToTheCage5 років тому
John Legler they can’t do that because the universe would collapse in on itself

Basically a tug of war, people want to see the wheel turn. they could put a whip master on top whipping them, and the last guy still pushing wins being bought by the red knight. {:-)
@thefunkosaurus5 років тому
How about ALL of them push the same way , until they can't. When one falls, wheel feels heavier. Last one standing. I think the whole thing would take 10 minutes.
@jean-lucdupuis70525 років тому
