Thank you very much for this Video. may you please help me out for short questions :- 1. is it mandatory to install cover on ladder type cable Tray ? cable tray will be installed in a metallic container. and not approachable to user. 2. if Cable is not Tray Type listed, but approved with UL: AWM 10107 & NFPA79. can we install such kind of cable in Cable Tray ? The cable is for example ÖLFLEX FD 90/90 CY which is flexible power cable to connect the machine. Installation is in Metallic container and Length is not more than 10meter. 3. I also heard that it always depend upon customer to customer and area to area by which standards they want to inspect. it can be NEC or can be NFPA79. with NFPA79 its not an issue to install not listed Type cable installation in cable Tray But with NEC, yes its an issue. is this true ?

Can lv cables cross @90 degrees over each other on cable trays?

Cable tray is a UL listed for the purpose and is a RACEWAY just like conduit. This is very important. Loose cable or jacked cables must be TC or Tray Cable rated required. UV or sunlight resistant is required. As always it must be installed per the manufacturer's recommendation and per listing and labeling. Thanks for you content it is very good however at any time we discuss tray I suggest we review the unique status of this type of raceway.

It isn't a raceway.

I've thrown out many handfuls of those type S ties that loose their teeth immediately on first use just like the crappy ones.

Hello Sir..thx for the video. I have a legitimate question. Where would I find in the code that a cable tray assembly must be identified for that particular application but does not have to be listed? Thank You! (Cable tray or any other material for that matter) Sidenote: I used to work in telecom years ago.. these are quite common in that industry and for outdoor cells all of the antennae transmission lines are supported by cable trays.. lots of temperature changes there

Is there anything like "Commercial building" where conditions of maintenance and supervision ensure only qualified persons service the installed cable tray system? If so, could it be considered to install individual conductors on their cable trays?

No, although I my opinion there should be. There were several proposals for the 2023 to change the concept to "restricted access locations," but those proposals failed. The proponent for these changes works at a national laboratory that has more stringent requirements than most "industrial" facilities but cannot use the allowances.

Good content. Really enjoy the code updates. Only thing would be to grt a better mic

Thanks for the feedback. The embarrassing truth on this video is that after I shot I realized that my mic was moved from where I normally put it. I had mopped the floor earlier and moved the mic stand, then didn't put it back. 😑

Completely understandable. I just think that the use of a pop filter is underrated and the room echo is a little rough when I'm listening on my van speakers omw to work
@RyanJacksonElectrical3 роки тому
@@chrishull1993 I use a pop filter as well. In fact, you can see it in the video I did yesterday Thanks again for the feedback, I really do appreciate it.
