@@pigs6486 True, but I was referring to how people laughed at how he put on muscle and increased his ball speed. When he started winning, so those same people began complaining about his new approach.

@@pigs6486 that “ugly swing” has the highest ball speed on tour and other than DJ his club face is closed the longest with the swing. Also you clearly don’t know a lot about him he’s actual quite a nice guy that does a lot for charity. keep being jealous though I heard it always helps

This is exactly why I think DJ's Augusta record low of -20 should have some sort of asterisk. Having the roars throughout the course adds pressure. When its quiet the entire weekend it puts absolutely no pressure on golfers

You are obviously unaware that existing club and ball technology doesn’t represent even the application of existing technology. The USGA & R&A have existing club and ball specifications that limit technology application. New ball specs are in the process of being revised aimed at throttling back distance the ball flies. The idea that technology advances must be implemented and are inevitable is not nearly the reality of golf given that ball & club specifications that qualify for use under the Rules of Golf are governed worldwide jointly by the USGA and R&A. The criticism of even the existing club/ball technology is that it has taken a significant amount of skill out of the game. The idea of golf clubs buying additional land to lengthen holes to accommodate future technology advances resulting in longer distance is akin to MLB using aluminum bats and altering stadiums to accommodate longer distance a baseball would be hit. That is exactly what the ruling bodies are working towards preventing because (1) buying additional land is not nearly a possibility at courses in general and more so around the best championship courses, and (2) great courses that represent some of the best golf course architecture ever have alteady been made obsolete for championship golf due to inability to lengthen holes. Unlike baseball, for example, that uses the same technology in equipment, such that comparison can be made to performances of past players to current players can be mDe, the same isn’t true in golf due to significantly difference in technology, which begs the question of whether the skill of the player is producing 350+ yard drives or is the technology producing those results. I started playing golf when woods had persimmon heads and Callaway’s coming out with its first metal woods when I was 17-18. Overnight I immediately gained distance with the same swing snd that doesn’t even take into account ball technology that even further inreased distance. Dben if subsequent technology advances aren’t considered just the switch to 1st generationo metal woods produced results that had nothing to do with skill. It would be interesting and informative to see players of different skill levels use clubs & balls used at vsrious periods of the past and compare results using current technology to grt an idea of how much of current results are attributable to technology vs. skill.

Why do you say that? The conditions for all players are still the same. I haven’t heard sny player claim that the pandemic was an advantage or disadvantage for anybody. So, why would events held during lockdown be adterisk events?

Why do you say that. In past Opens at Winged Foot, long hitters didn’t perform unusually well, with winners being average length hitters of those times. I think Bryson would have done well on any course based on the way he was playing at the time. He was at the to in the 221 Open at Torrey Pines well into the final round until he had a few disaster holes. But the fact that he was at the to of the leaderboard for so long in the 2021 tournament supports jis theory that longer drives even in the rough is the advantage and not whether a player’s game is suited to a particular course. Of course, the dest of his game had to be on point as he is not claiming the driving distance alone will produce wins.

You'd be surprised what someone with the best nutrition experts, no budget, extreme work ethic, and unlimited time to devote to the gym can accomplish in that time. He gained about 50 lbs, probably 10-15 of which was muscle. Theres a good chance he was on a few PED's, because everyone in professional sports is if we're being honest. But I dont think there's any real evidence he went overboard with it. He doesnt have steroid face, crazy delts, or gyno lol If people are going to call him out, Tiger and Koepka I think are more obvious steroid users.

@@nickmanville900 had puffed face, can be because he gained lots of fat. I mean weight helped him a lot but yes there was no much muscles or if it did he got lots of fat too.. I know and some people have genetics which is huge factor - you have nattys you would say they are on PEDs and there is at least these days many many PEDs users and don't even look like. I was natural, worked in the gym so trained, i got wnough rest and the best thing I was asked: are you on steroids 😁 and you have kids at 14,15 steps in gym as 80lbs and goes thru puberty and gym at the same time and I was just like: jezus christ those kids..but its puberty testosterone, genetics, training, food,.. I went work as a cop, didn't train and nowadays I see kids on TikTok on test-tren cylcle with dbol and deca for first month...just crazy

He already has problems with his body. With all that working out and swinging as hard as he can, it has taken a toll on his body and he is till trying to recover.

Bryson’s theory that statistically better scores wi be achieved by hitting a 340+ yard drive and hitting shorter 2nd shot even from the rough vs. hitting a shorter drive and hitting a longer 2nd shot from the fairway. His theory / strategy isn’t about hitting long simply to hit it long. He inly hit 18 fairways with rough long enough that dome players lost balls in it, so his theory worked at lesst for this event. He has won 8 times, so there appears merit to what he is doing. He may not get to #1 by hitting longer drives, but there isn’t any greater probability of getting to #1 if he was hitting the ball 50 yards shorter.
