In my experience with the S10+ it seems very hit or miss, hard to quickly put your finger in the right spot as there is no tactile feedback (like a sensor's outer edge or ring). Way more thinking and effort than Face ID. Highly doubt any of the rumours that Apple with replace Face ID with in-display Touch ID or even add it alongside it are true. It would feel like a step back imo.
@ikjadoon
@ikjadoon 2 роки тому
@@AlexIzbrodin It's gotten a bit better with newer phones, but I absolutely hate how it doesn't work well with all screen protectors. IIRC, the best ones require a UV light for application (because it needs to be an ultra-tight seal with specific adhesives or otherwise, the fingerprint won't go through). I'd much prefer a fingerprint on the side or back at this stage. Maybe in 3-5 years, the under-screen ones will work better w/ screen protectors.

You nailed it on the camera sensor size. Higher resolution reaches the limits you mentioned with a small sensor. I’d rather have a 12 MP camera with a larger sensor. Case in point. A digital SLR with 6 MP and a sensor measuring an inch or more will look less grainy than a much smaller 12 MP sensor.

@CallMeRabbitzUSVI
@CallMeRabbitzUSVI 2 роки тому
Thats not how that works Robin, DPReview even did in indepth analysis just recently about that. Higher megapixels result in smaller noise and a less grainy appearance. Also the iPhone adds unnecessary amounts of sharpness to the image resulting in the trademark "smartphone look"

I wish we would see some bleeding edge tech in iPhones, but I really doubt we will ever see it again (early days iPhones were pretty advanced for the time). Apple will most likely continue to choose the extra safe route. A ton of people already love iPhones the way they are and don’t care much about the newest tech features. As long as they don’t get left tooooo far behind, what incentive do they have to push amazing new tech??

Some bleeding edge tech in iPhones that people forget about it: -- LiDAR sensors for impressive 3D space capture / top-tier AR -- Face ID's infrared dot-projector e.g., much more secure + faster (doomed w/ masks though -- Dolby Vision / HDR10 / HLG HDR recording -- magnetic aligned wireless charging -- ultra-efficient video / audio decoders (25+ hours streaming) -- the entire CPU 1T performance of the SoC -- the smoothest VRR, if the demos are to be believed -- top-tier waterproofing (IP68 to 6 m / 18 ft, unlike most phones at 2m / 6 ft) These are all pretty bleeding edge in that they're not readily available in other flagships, IMHO.

After all...it's business. And new tech's can't be produced at 200million units a year immediately with high quality while android brands sells only hundred thousands to 20+million units a year for their flagships....so new hardware techs are easier to manufacture. ...those even have flaws....imagine producing that at 200million units a year.

Early iPhones we the same as they are now, which is never BLEEDING edge: The things mentioned here are only fringe, bleeding edge of Android manufacturers, not at all their norm. For example, there are far more Samsung phones with worse cameras than the iPhone so you could say the iPhone is more advanced and superior to _most_ Samsung phones, but omitting the very bleeding edge devices like Ultra for cameras or the fold/flip series for innovative devices. There were other phones that did more than the first iPhone, then a year after the first iPhone the HTC Desire blew the first iPhone and 3G out of the water with such stupidly basic things like, oh idk, copy/paste or 3rd party apps. iPhone has, again, never been the bleeding edge

About fast charging, I have the 12pro max. When connection to my F150 for CarPlay it seems to charge faster than any other charge I have ever used.
@EvzenEmanuel
@EvzenEmanuel 2 роки тому
The fast charging battery degradation concerns are just funny - when you can simply implement UI pop up element which would ask you whether you want to use the fast charging. This way you would only use it when needed and not when charging overnight for example. Best of both worlds.
@DmanLucky_98
@DmanLucky_98 2 роки тому
Samsung in their UI lets you turn off fast charging in settings. I rarely use it, when "slow" charge goes from 0% to 100% in a hour or so. It fine for my usage.

I've been use to the OnePlus 7t pro fast charging, which is great. I'm now expecting the iPhone 13 pro in the coming days. I knew that switching to iPhone, that I'd be sacrificing charging speeds. But.. I do most of my charging at night, so shouldn't affect me too much. Would be great if in the future, they up the speeds by double.

Well, charging at night exposes the battery to overcharging anyway. We need an empirical study to tell

@@kingdeadshoot6019 yo my one plus camera would just stop working randomly. Tried clearing the cache and all that and after awhile I knew something was up. It had to be a software issue and my phone was cracked on the back. Upgraded to a 12 pro max and I really like it so far. Just have to get used to IOS again but the main thing I miss the volume controls and fingerprint scanner Indisplay.

Can you make a “108MP Camera Phone Explained!” video and explain why having a 108MP camera on a phone is so impressive even though the photo quality isn’t the best?
@hiteshjoshi3148

Its not that try samsung s21 ultra its has better camera whether at 108 mp or 12 mp than iphone its time tested.
@ethanvanstaden4837
@ethanvanstaden4837 2 роки тому
Simple answer from an actual photographer, the reason it’s still average quality at 108 megapixels is because the sensor of the actual camera is so small, so for example, my Sony a7iii only has 24 megapixels but the size of the sensor is a full frame sensor, so the image quality is without a doubt still better than any 108 megapixel phone. If you want to understand more about sensor sizes I’m sure there’s something on google about size differences between full frame and phone camera frame. Megapixels don’t necessarily mean the quality is better, it all depends on size of the sensor. That’s why an actual 108 megapixel camera is ranged at around $50,000
