Thanks for an objective review of a tough, well-fought game from a big Michigan fan/alum. Those two interceptions weighed heavily on the outcome. The first one was the difference in two guys who fought for the ball and the second had a Mich pass rusher in McCord's face when he released the ball and a determined Mich defender who desperately wanted that ball and held onto it for dear life. It was a game that will go down in football history as a slugfest. Michigan has a badly hurt offensive lineman and a win over Ohio State. Tough game. Go Blue!

Like he guys said, 370 days to sit and think....really. Maybe that's one of OSU's problem....Michigan lives rent free in every Ohio State fans head.....it's college football for God's sake, these are kids....the pressure OSU's fans put on the program might be an issue.....

Last week and the week before the conversation was this was for all the marbles because these two teams were playing in a weaker Big10 and that both teams needed to win out to make the playoffs. Now these two are saying OSU's season is not over?!!! These two who said UM couldn't beat OSU without stealing signs? Who laughed at Blake Corum because they said the NCAA could make them vacate wins. These are the same two along with Tim May who gave OSU credit for beating PSU, but when we beat them on the road, all of a sudden PSU had a high school offense. Can we just call this thing straight down the middle. OSU is a great team, and they got beat. They got beat by a better team! This guy said he thinks Nix is going to win the Heisman. IF that is the case, Oregon wins the Pac12. If that is the case, how does OSU stay in the top 4? FSU beat UF last night. Do you think your one loss Bucks get to make it over FSU? They don't have a qb?--You all don't have a coach!! So they will make it over you. So will a Pac10 champ. So will Michigan, So will UGA! It's over. The sign stealing fodder, the talk of UM only beating OSU because of signs, the laughing at our players saying they are nothing, laughing at them because they were "playing the victim card", Its over, just like your season! As you all predicted the loser of this game can go play Louisville in the "opt out" bowl (which is disrespectful. But hey, you said it). That is your season and it is over!!! We are a better team than you. We have better depth, better coaches, a better culture, less top end talent, but better player development. JJ McCarthy squeezing the pass between 2 Buckeyes to Wilson for the TD might be the best single play of the game. Nothing wrong with wishful thinking but I don't think the committee will sneak OSU in a second year in a row.

One coached believed in his players by going for 4th downs and being aggressive. The other tried to micromanage the talent and didn't trust his team enough to go on 4th downs. And look who won.

Colaton Loveland was the difference offensively for Michigan, he’s our best player besides JJ. He reminds me of a younger Brock Bowers, he’s gonna be playing on Sundays. I was suprised that OSU kept abandoning the run game when it was working against us, Michigan on the last drive didn’t throw a pass I think

Michigan fan here. Thanks for an objective review. Game was a classic. either team could have win, but your comment about Ohio St, not breaking serve, hit home. During the other Harbaugh OSU games, Michigan could never break serve and gradually got rolled. Now the tables have turned. See ya next year!

I knew from mid-season McCord wasn't capable of beating Michigan. It's hard to "see" the other targets when you're focused on Harrison Jr 95% of the time. Harrison got 5 targets and a score..but Michigan limited the damage he can cause. That was basically the difference in the close game.

As far as the offensive line has come it still allowed McCord to be hurried a lot. Michigan is the better team. Better offensive line play and higher-level QB play. I'm going to get tired for the next few days and weeks hearing about Day having job insecurity. He is a great coach and needs to feel the love of Buckeye nation. Kudos to JJ McCarthy who gave the Buckeyes some nice props when he was interviewed. That kid is a class act. Hope Zinter is OK.

Michigan had more heart and over played osu. That sums it up.

Kyle McCord has held this team back all season long he's been the weakest link he just never improved through the season the defense played good and i really believe Coach Day called the game like he understood he had Kyle McCord he never trusted him all season against Georgia if they had McCord they would've gotten blown out so you cannot compare Kyle McCord is very average and limited this is his 3rd year in the program he should be better and he has to be in an offense that requires an NFL level QB to run it and HONDA MCCORD ain't that Guy!!!

So ironic how it "always" comes down to rushing and turnovers...what a game. Ohio kids played tough, but Blue held their own..

Michigan fan here. I was at the game yesterday and OSU played an excellent game overall. Honestly, it could have gone either way. McCord did make some excellent throws and will only get better next year. It would be silly to fire Ryan Day.

Huge UM fan. Nice to win. BUT it's just a game and in the big picture of things it is meaningless.

As a Michigan fan since I was 10 years old in 1984, much respect to OSU for a hard fought game. Instant classic and one of the best games in the entire rivalry. Sherrone Moore out-coached Ryan Day and that won Michigan the game, along with excellent line play in the trenches, as well as 2 INT’s. McCord will be dangerous next year, once he settles in and learns to manipulate the defense with his eyes, as well as not staring down his #1 receiver.

Even with Ryan Day's impressive win/loss record at 56-7, the Buckeye nation demands a winning record with TTUN. If that can't be accomplished, then it's time for a coach that can beat Xigan. Just Like Jim Tressel who replaced John Cooper. We like coach Day, but we must admit that he doesn't make the right calls in the right situation. He doesn't gamble when he should, and kicks when he shouldn't. I say, give coach Day a couple more years to figure things out.

TTUN was ultimately better on the line of scrimmage and slowly ground their opponent into dust. Every other problem for the Buckeyes stems from there. TTUN deserves this win and it was one of the best games I've seen all year long. Hopefully next year things are different, if not I seriously doubt that Day will be around much longer which would be a bit of a shame since he has been so good outside of those Top 5 match ups.

The interceptions were the problem. QB play all year was not up to standard. Look at most of thew first quarter results. Of course there will be plenty of Buckeye talking heads that will say McCord has been OK. Not the case. It was a great McCord game? Really. Next year, are you serious, RThewre has to be an upgrade. Think Portal or Lincoln.

Just curious. Have either of you watched CJ this year? Doesn’t look like CJ last year. Rather than blame a kid, can one of you just own up and be honest. Day is the problem. He isn’t a QB genius nor an offensive genius. QBs come and go but Day stays and the outcome never changes. Good coach but not elite. Hate to say this, but he was born on third base.

Michigan's ability to deceive the opposition's LBs is next level, either with TEs or with Blake Corum, it's always a miss match.

Osu is in a weird predicament with Day. One of the winningest coaches, can go 11-0 in his sleep, and can win playoff games and could have/should have beaten the national champs last year...The only thing he can't do is beat Michigan. Who else do you hire?

Great analysis gentlemen. I think the key was JJ was able to move around which gave Michigan openings elsewhere. Against OSU you need every edge possible.

Ohio State couldn't stop Michigan in the second half.

Jim Knowles once again crapped the bed in a big game. Michigan picked, picked and picked their way downfield all game and Knowles never did anything to stop it. His hope, I guess, was that CJ Stroud would make a return at halftime and outscore Michigan.

Agree with Kevin they should turn these 4 and 5 stars loose. This is OSU not Penn State. Pedal to the metal for 60 minutes.

Here's the guys I want to see but missing your third guy. You guys created so many videos about how Michigan must have used other means in order to beat Ohio the last couple of years. It was fortuitous before the Moore interception Ohio State fumbled after making a catch and was able to recover or game over there. Good assessment of The Game!

The player is the culture Ryan Day has installed at OSU and especially in The Game. There’s no fight or fight in the rivalry on OSU’s side, inability to call for and/or execute any sort of aggressive gameplan, Ryan Day has not developed or improved any trait of McCord, McCord can’t read a defense, the best WR in OSU history not being put in 1v1 positions out wide is completely idiotic, Knowles still can’t stop a run, etc. Ryan Day isn’t the key to success. I’m taking Michigan every year to win if Day is on the other side

I can’t see Ohio State getting into the playoff. Ohio state can’t get in over Michigan if they lose to Iowa. They can’t get in over the PAC 12 and Sec champion. Florida State and Texas also have a better argument considering they are playing for their conference championship.

The difference was coaching. OSU is not getting it's money's worth in Big Games (1-6). Knowles is not intense enough at $2 Million/year. OSU is the only Team talented enough to beat the SEC teams; but they're not talented enough at the coaching position. UM will go on to lose in the playoffs to a team that will ultimately lose to the SEC.

I have to wonder whether moving Brian Hartline from receiver coach to offense coordinator was all that great of an idea. Whatever happened to all the slant routes we used to see with Fields and Stroud? I don't think I've seen one all season. What stood out to me in the Michigan game was all the dropped or missed passes. How much of that is due to coaching?

Good level-headed analysis. Buckeyes at least see a bowl. Kyle NEEDS much footwork and eye-work practice. It is hard to be an A team with a B quarterback.

Ryan Day & LJ have had so many high draft picks to work with, yet have not developed them nearly as well as Michigan has with their lower rated players. Time to clean house.

The defense gave up 30 points. They blew it. Offense scored 24 points. Everyone thought that would be enough..not.

You have to be able to accept defeat as well as you do winning. Everybody loses at some time.

3 takeaways. 1)Ryan has no balls. 2) MIDcord is exactly who we saw all season, and will not be better next year. 3) we knew in the 4th qtr that scUM was running the ball and the defense couldn't get off the field. Day was disappointing in his play calling. The special teams were not good. Kyle has not improved this year. Disappointing again.

The problem is coaching. Plain and simple. Fire John Cooper jr. Solve the problem.

UM's pass D was the story. Harrison made some plays, but didn't terrorize UM . They had pretty good containment on him, all considered. Their pass rush helped out the back end. OSU D played well enough, but offense was contained.

Get Ryan Day out of here. Nothing personal, he’s an okay coach (not great, not terrible), but he’s a terrible fit at Ohio State. I love his creativity on offense when he’s at his best, but that cannot be the foundation for success. Toughness has to be the foundation, as Michigan has learned, and yet we see Ohio State play more uptight against Michigan every year under Day. Day gets nervous, he gets uptight, the team follows suit, we lose. I see no evidence of that changing if we give him another 3 or 4 years.

I'll give 3 good reasons for this embarrassing loss. Ryan Day, Jim Knowles, and Kyle McCord. Fire Day and Knowles and find a damn coach who knows how important the o-lines and d-lines are. Day has made our team weak because he thinks he can just outscore everyone. I am done with John Cooper 2.0.
