Lovely book list! It teaches the philosophy of design and team building more than technical information. This is fantastically important. I have seen many technicians who failed to understand design and could not create a testing process for a complex system component.

Many people diss Prusa Mk3, but indeed they always lack the concept of actually printing. I even got one bought by my employer. It's just so great that I can quickly draw and _reliably_ print parts. I also indeed don't want to have printer as hobby, but as a tool.

Pretty decent lab space.. I have smaller laboratory workspace and that's, usually, ends up with using dinner table for bigger stuff and creating pile in corner.. 😂 Time by time I need to go to garage to get some rarely used materials (extra wires, transformers, donor boards etc) and that is annoying because I need to remember what's in garage and what's in laboratory.. From other point of view, I learned to use every available space more practically.. For boxes there is option to create DIY shelfs by high and in one longer shelf only two boxes sitting one to another.. From sides there's no need for dividers, next two boxes sitting near by neighbor boxes.. I did it my lab some time ago and now I don't need to remove all pile to get one specific box from lower level.. 😉
@AndreasSpiess
@AndreasSpiess 2 роки тому
Shelfs are a good idea but also a little more complicated. I have shelfs in my wardrobes and they are comfortable. Here, time mixes the boxes right because I always place the last box on top. Like that I can check if the lowest level really is needed anymore and the current projects are near the top.

I have one of those "wife" things that has taken over all the space in the house so my "lab" lives in 4 large cardboard boxes when I'm not working on a project - not good. I could use the small space in the garage but it's currently 33C out there. Oh well, one day...

I print directly on glass, no sprays, no tape, nothing. only very super thin prints I'd use glue stick.
@AndreasSpiess

Thank you for your tip. I used glass with my old printer, but was not too successful. Maybe they found now better materials. I am not sure if I would get glass for the Prusa.

I've had too many PETG prints tear chunks out of the glass. Glue stick on everything for me.

@circleofowls
@circleofowls 2 роки тому
@@phizicks Nah, PETG just *really* likes to stick to glass. Glue sticks are really easy insurance. It's a good, easy to print filament, just a bit goopy. You'll have to fight poor bridging and stringy gaps. I usually stick to PLA+ unless I need the temperature resistance then I just skip up to a polycarbonate with carbon fiber like Priline or the absolutely insanely strong/rigid/expensive HTN-CF25 that Essentium makes.
