My friends and I compete daily to see who can leave work after five the earliest but still make it late enough that it looks like we didn’t want to leave. The winner is sometimes the loser. It’s great fun

dahi means curd handi is that vessel its kept in in India lord krishna likes to eat dahi a lot so his mom used to hide it in a handi at high altitudes so that he couldn't reach it. Hence krishna would use his frens and make a pyramid to access it. We celebrate it on krishna's birthday by playing dahi handi. it's usually a competition of who stacks the highest pyramids and is quite fun actually. its cool to know its been practised in other places as well

The NK Tegenwindfietsen is an annual Dutch Championship that takes place if there is a storm at the end of the year. The organisers supply you with a men’s bicycle without gears and with a back-pedal or coaster brake. When there is a storm coming, the competition is announced three days in advance and people can sign up.

fun fact. in spain theres a tradition quite similar to jod ke tod. Its called Castellers. Typical from the region of Catalonia two tteams mount human castles with a score system depending the dificulty of the castle.

Red bull, i know a sport you can start. I used to do this with my friends. Get a long distance rubbery frisbee used in the world record length throw, put up two soccer goals a distance between each other. 2 players at each goal but you can't use your hands to catch/stop the frisbee. Me and my friends had a lot of fun playing it, and some pain when rubber hits the back hahha

Guys, you should check out "Maraton Lađa" event which is held in Croatia, every year. Goal of the race is save old boats from forgetting what people in Neretva region used from 8th century. 12 men in 700 kgs boats race for 22. 5 kilometers. I mean, just check it. Its awesome!

the pole jumping in the Netherlands is older than that. in the 16th century, during the 80 years war, Dutch raiding parties would use vaulting poles and light equipment (usually just a musket or a sword) to cross ditches and appear behind enemy lines to disrupt supply stations and wagon trains. im not Dutch, just a military historian, but you can find written sources that prove this

I Denmark we have a boy scout sport called "pind" (stick in Danish) which Is about showeling a stick as fast and far out a field. The other team then have to get the stick back as close to the base as possible. And both teams use their bodies to slow down the stick. Did I mention that bruises are common?
