@@Schmage my theory is that the mechagodzilla is much smaller than real Godzilla. After Kong fights it a long time and struggles to defeat it the actual Godzilla shows up and squashes it like it’s a roach. Then gives the much much smaller King Kong a fist bump and they become pals. Thus ending the historical Godzilla vs Kong feud.

@@Schmage godzilla is about 100 metres tall where as the nimitz class aircraft carrier which they fight on is about 330 metres long and 60 metres tall so yes it is much smaller probably about 50 metres tall which is around the same height as kong in skull island so it seems he didnt grow much

Either mechagodzilla will serve as an imposter throughout the movie and cause anti godzilla sentiment (which I think it will) or just as a killing machine. They're both going to have to team up and fight something else (mechagodzilla) so thats how it looks like it'll go down

While this is true they have consistently shown that Godzilla only attacks when he has a very good reason to. I’m looking forward to finding out that reason. I realize they humans and Godzilla aren’t allies. Godzilla (at least thus far) has been shown to be pro-life on earth. Humans (at least not monarch. Though likely Apex has been) haven’t been trying to genocide the Titans. So I’m very curious what exactly is going on and also hope that future trailers don’t spoil anything plot wise.

True, but then again unlike most other Titans, Godzilla always attacks for a reason and not just attack for no reason. In the trailer, the character from King of the Monsters states that there is something that is upsetting Godzilla.

When Godzilla first appeared in the 50s he was a villain. He wasn’t always a hero. They made him a hero like in the 60s or70s

I’d honestly say this version of Godzilla is just an anti-hero, helping humanity whenever they both have a common enemy, so seeing him attack if humans step out of line isn’t that hard to believe, he’s not the guardian of humanity or some god, he’s an animal an ancient one that knows it’s way to bring order to earth and if anything (including us) stand against it he will kill.

@Triplepickle Chin just a theory but judging from the trailer I don't believe what we saw was the real Godzilla I know Godzilla was a villian in the first four films but that doesn't seem like the case since 2014 Godzilla the trailer shows Godzilla atomic breathing cities plus Godzilla tends to show up after a monster starts causing destruction but in the trailer Godzilla swims through a navy ship just to get to Kong when Kong wasn't doing anything just doesn't add up I could be completely wrong have to wait and see

Additionally, his atomic breath in this trailer looks more like an energy beam. Both 2014 and 2019 Godzilla have an attack that looks mostly fire based, yet at 3:10 it looks more similar to Ghidorah’s.

As much as I liked this theory, and wanted this to be true, it doesn't really seem like it's the case, as mecha Godzilla would have no motives at all to kill kong, rather then Godzilla, that and you can't recreate jiggle physics with a robot like that, sure in the original film we see that mechagodzilla is using fake cell based tech to make almost seamless skin, but the other problem is Godzilla’s movements are going to be even harder to mimic, in the toy leak, we see mech Godzilla’s design, and his arms are.much longer then the real Godzilla's, and a robot can't really match a humans movement perfectly, that and the technology would have to be mind blowing, and finally, it wouldn’t even make sense at all for the story in the monster verse, the filmmakers have set up beef for kong and Godzilla, and in the trailer they specifically said “something’s provoking him, and we can’t figure out why!” this really says that this is the real Godzilla, that and my personal theory is that the ORCA device is in mecha Godzilla, being used to manipulate Godzilla that and a bunch of people already debunked this theory, (metal in lighting, the leaked mrchs Godzilla design doesn't match the original enough for the whole mimic theory, etc.)

Edit: could've been they abandoned the proj because lack of resources and APEX secretly continued the proj. Or a traitor in monarch who worked for APEX and programmed MechG to go rampage. Or APEX raid the monarch facility (It is impossible they will not know its mechG because monarch build and designed mechG so they know how it works). If they abandoned the proj they should reuse its scraps, not leave a doomsday weapon standing around. The movie will be really dumb if they didn't know someone stole their tech. If the newspaper credit scene was a mistake by the creators, then its a pass.
