Usually LEGO retires sets after two or three years of production. The fact that this set is still on the market after five years shows that it is still selling incredibly well.

Let's just clarify, your stock X bid may be €570, but they will pile on fees to the point where it approaches LEGOs retail price.

It feels very old and nostalgic, cause most of these LEGO boxes for the sets have a realistic background while the more recent ones (Titanic, The Pyramid of Giza, etc.) are pitch black. Another thing about the set is that the pieces. In person, the set looks very big with the of pieces in exterior view. The pieces inside is probably the most. I love this set for it's exterior look. It look complex at first but once you start to really see the potential for creativity, the set will feel like a whole spaceship being built and in progress.

Having the two versions of a ship that is present in more than one trilogy is quite a good idea. If one day they release a Lars farm i hope they may include from each trilogies.

I am surprised both Jang and tiago are reviewing this set this year and at very near intervals (Jang on end May 2022 and this today mid June). Anyways brickeconomy surprisingly listed this as "Retiring soon with a number of region already retired the set" though it was supposed to retire 2023. Anyways for those who are sleeping on this set, still, suggest to get it asap. My physical store had it listed as "Out of Stock"

Since you mentioned wanting a full interior, perhaps it would be a cool chance to check out the brickvault UCCS millenium falcon. It is a third party set but I think it would be a cool comparison and would provide the unique insight of an actual lego designer looking at 3rd party building techniques and designs.

I got my hands on this in mid February, and I absolutely love it. It’s a centerpiece in my room and is totally awesome!

Even though the Millennium Falcon is my favorite spaceship by far and I've even spent thousands of hours over the course of six years working on my own 1:70 scale model, I still think getting this UCS set wasn't such a smart idea since it's taking up about a fourth of my building table (and has been sitting there since 2017, since I don't have any shelves large enough to fit this hunk of junk.) What everyone seems to forget is how this model doesn't just take up space when you build it, but actually every day and every night in the future. The falcon isn't particularly high, but its footprint is insane. The UCS AT-AT could probably be crammed into the darkest corner of a room, but unless you feel comfortable mounting the Falcon on a vertical display stand, it takes up enough real estate for Mr. Ditkovich to ask for rent.

Nice video! Funny because I only got it last November after i got the UCS AT-AT! (It's simply a must-have, right?) Clearly I encountered the same organizational frustration, especially building after the most excellently organized AT-AT. I don't love the back end sagging under the drive unit, but it isn't a deal breaker. Otherwise building this set wasn't as tedious as I had anticipated. I actually enjoyed the "holes" quite a bit as well. And ultimately I love looking at it displayed. 🙌

The things you called escape pods are actually boarding hatches while the gap at the front is the escape pod

a big point of the original 10179 is that it was "swooshable" and you could hold it by the inside structure after removing the top center panel. (I have one of those, numbered :-)

To display on a shelf, order the parts for the „Effermans‘s stand“ with the free instructions. I order them in black technic parts, and just 4 red special pins…

I absolutely love this set!

One of the best builds I've done - up there with the UCS AT-AT for sure! The final model size is impressive, to say the least, but the build experience was very well designed - not a "structure then panel" build like the UCS Star Destroyer.

That was my favorite set in Lego Star Wars!

I have the UCS Millennium Falcon, and I still feel slighted for not getting R2D2, Luke Skywalker, and Lando Calrissian, considering all three of them were in The Empire Strikes Back.

I think the mynock is essential given the alternate Han and Leia faces.

I bought the Lego tumbler Batmobile and it had some very similar issues to this. A Technic superstructure that you just kinda add to. I love the final result and how it looks on my shelf but my god it was the worst building experience I've ever had with a Lego set. Getting the wheels on still gives me nightmares...

I miss-cut manual might actually make it MORE valuable to collectors in the future.

Still working on mine and boy is this set sooooo fragile. Pieces barely want to stay together and the pizza shaped fuselage is a pain to keep together too so be weary because this is a very frustrating one to get done.

In my case the bags where not put at random but in matching build order. I bought it from Lego 2 years ago now but I don’t know any good reason why they would change that. Perhaps is it done manually and you had a set packed on a Friday 😅

The figures need to be updated, like the 2008 death star got in the middle of its life. Give them dual mold legs, maybe a few new characters

How do you feel this compares to the UCS Star Destroyer? Just got mine and was considering picking this one up - I absolutely love the size and the look of the ISD, but the details on this look incredible.

As much as I love Star Wars, I hope this is the last UCS falcon for a long while. As you say we’ve already had 2, a third isn’t necessary. What I’d rather see redone in UCS is the Imperial Shuttle and B-Wing. 2 amazing sets that could be even better redone.

People hate on stock x but their authenticity process is legit, I’ve gotten a few sets from there and they are all good, if the box is messed up when it comes to their center they let you know to see if you still want it, the only thing they do is break the Lego seal to make sure everything is in the box, so if you want one for collecting with the original factory seal to not open, then no don’t use stock x.

I really wanted to buy this set, but where i live (in Italy) i can't find it anywhere plus that costs a lot of money and even if i have it my father doesn't let me spend all that money for a lego set even if the money are mine. But there's another problem, the set is so big that i don't really know where to put this in my room

okay, hear me out though: the 2011 millennium falcon this is such a great set, i wish it wasn't that expensive but hey, what am i expecting for a 7.5k piece set lol

There are third party kits available to build a vertical (well, nearly vertical) display stand. It works quite well and reduces the footprint of the model by a LOT. Mine is currently sitting next to my monitor on my computer desk, and my desk is not very large. It tips it up on it's side with the cockpit up top. The panels on the top that are just laying there still stay put just fine. After placing it where you want it you may have to fiddle with the panels, but mine are all in place and haven't moved or fallen off in the several months it's been sitting there. I will say if you want to go this route you should definitely do what I did and purchase the stand before assembling the Falcon. It's much easier to attach when the build is about halfway done than after it's fully assembled. Once you have the bottom of the ship finished, but before you start putting the outer panels on the top, is the best point to attach the stand. Otherwise you need to remove all the panels that are designed to lift off the top, and the radar dish, and then very carefully flip it upside down and lay it on some pillows. Then you can attach the stand, and once it's on it makes a nice handle to move the ship with.

I know it's impractical, but I immediately starting giggling seeing that massive instruction booklet flop out. 😂

the absolute detail in this set is unlike anything ive ever seen on a lego set, even the titanic doesnt come remotely close, even with its extremely tedious to build interior, i have the video paused at 3:21 and the tiny pieces used like the revolver and binoculars which irl are centimetre sized pieces really show just how much effort went into designing it

A school district program that I’m doing is still using the LEGO Mindstorms EV3 but getting rid of them next year… probably to throw them away. My friend and I had so much fun making it, and called him “Hotmess” or “Hot Pocket” due to the large wires swinging all over the place. I added a bunch of antennas and added a long stick for the touch sensor thing too. This inspired me to start doing LEGO again but sadly my school is replacing them with the Sphero BOLT as a newer “robot” for the program. I will miss the “obsolete” EV3 that we had good memories with programming and such. :)

The regret later part was too much for me...I just bought this set with 30% discount on toys r us...559€ here in Portugal...now my big problem is I literally don't have a place for it so it will remain in the box in my garage lol...
