60 Minutes, the most successful American television broadcast in history, began its 52nd season in September. Offering hard-hitting investigative reports, interviews, feature segments and profiles of people in the news, the broadcast began in 1968 is still a hit in 2020. 60 Minutes makes Nielsen’s weekly Top 10 nearly every week and was the #1 weekly television broadcast three times last season.
The program still averages more than 10 million viewers, more than double the audience of its nearest network news magazine competitor. The average audience for a 60 Minutes broadcast is 150% higher than those of the network morning news programs; the audience dwarfs the number of viewers drawn by the most popular cable news programs.
About a million more people listen to the 60 Minutes radio simulcast in several major cities and on its companion podcast. Tens of thousands each week experience 60 Minutes online. The broadcast’s segments can be watched at 60Minutes.com and on the CBS All Access app. Its webcast, 60MinutesOvertime.com, offers content originally produced for the web, including behind-the-scenes video about the production of 60 Minutes stories and timely archival segments.
60 Minutes has won every major broadcast award. Its 25 Peabody and 150 Emmy awards are the most won by any single news program. It has also won 20 duPont-Columbia University journalism awards. Other distinguished journalism honors won multiple times include the George Polk, RTDNA Edward R. Murrow, Investigative Reporters and Editors, RFK Journalism, Sigma Delta Chi and Gerald Loeb awards.
60 Minutes premiered on CBS September 24, 1968. Bill Owens is the program’s executive producer. The correspondents and contributors of 60 Minutes are Sharyn Alfonsi, Anderson Cooper, John Dickerson, Norah O’Donnell, Scott Pelley, Lesley Stahl, Bill Whitaker and L. Jon Wertheim.

I know how meaningful it is to be told that they don't know, but willing to listen and listen and listen and document and document and research and research and research and listen. Too infrequent. There is so very much to our bodies and medical staff can't know it all, but to acknowledge someone can be comforting. What was described here is just some of the things that Fibromyalgia throws at you. You can look fine when you're not fine. My heart goes out to everyone everywhere.

Always take responsibility for your own care and keep pushing for answers move on to another doctor if you get BS answers from the first second or third doctor these guys are not infallible and often overworked and just in it for the money and really have no interest in patient care this is the reality of the American Health system.

@@rainmon Not just in the USA. Over a period of 4 years I consulted 17 doctors in 3 European countries before an illness was correctly diagnosed. 12 doctors told me to "think positive", 4 said they didn't know. The last doctor I saw had had the illness himself and could diagnose it. I was unable to work for almost two years, got bankrupted and was left with permanent physiologial damage.

I totally relate to this story. I’ve been dealing with “Long COVID” for about 9 months now. It caused Fibromyalgia and I hurt all day every day. Life is totally different now. I can’t do the things I used to enjoy and it’s very very upsetting and frustrating. I’m 40 and most days I feel like I’m 80. On top of it all I think the worst is the short term memory loss issue. It’s been getting worse. I sometimes forget what I’m saying as I’m talking. And yes the only ones that seem to understand are those of us dealing with it ourselves

Wow, I glad I stumbled onto this 60 minutes video and all these responses. I had covid a year ago now. I was in the hospital for almost 5 weeks. I was intubated for 7 days of that 5 weeks in the hospital. The nurses were telling me I was going to die. I didn't thanks to many, many prayers. Jesus heard those prayers and brought me through. But....I'm having long term affects, aside from the "normal" things like memory loss, and forgetting words, I have developed high cholesterol and I'm pre diabetic. I'm now on thyroid meds for hypothyroidism. I had none of these problems before I got sick. Prayers to all of you that are suffering post covid. Hang in there!

I was evaluated at urgent care and told that I “have a virus”. Since that visit, I’ve developed an autoimmune disease, elevated platelets, vertigo, hypertension, extreme fatigue, severe depression and more. Before this, I was an active, happy person. I’m currently able to work one to two days a week but can’t function for days afterwards. My quality of life is poor. I’m in the absolute worst physical and mental shape of my life. I got instantly hot/dizzy and a sharp pain traveled up my thigh that was so painful - I passed out on the living room floor. I gently asked her to give me sometime to get better and stop texting me. My advice to anyone going through this is to rest as much as you can. Take small steps, literally, don't work yourself out too much. Combine that with a good diet, meaning no salt or sugar, consume food that's good for your heart and lungs. Avoid eating seafood and pork. Also I found it supper helpful taking supplements and vitamins such as Omega 3, probiotics, vitamins C and D. Don't underestimate the power of your mind, stay positive and trust you'll get better. If you can, take short walks under the sun, doing breathing exercises, I did this every day from 10-15 minutes and I'm happy to report I'm back to 100%. Good luck and take care of yourself.

There may be some natural parasite cleanses on the market? Also take vitamins NAC, D, C, zinc, perhaps a probiotic. Spend time sitting in the sun. Do deep breathing exercises to strengthen your lungs. Physical therapy may help with proper diaphragm exercises. Jesus Christ is the ultimate healer. Come to Him in prayer and repentance.

Phew, add in what's going on now.... never knew this burden & alone, could be SO heavy. Things I shouldn't & cannot do.... what choice do I have? Livng every day, atm..... just trying to get through, find a way to make sure my son eats, renting a room in hiding that he has to share w/ his mom (poor kid, he's been through enough) for now, trying to save what I can on disability alone. W/ a toxic ex who pays nothing, after SO many yrs of me doing evvvvverything... Realizing taking care of myself has to happen, yet.... neat trick, ya know? All, while .... for so much of it, family, friends.. those who are left anyway, simply don't get it OR, shockingly... even have compassion empathy for anyone BUT themselves. I'll never understand what's happened to people. Not what I imagined life... or this age... or my son's.... phew, anyway. I'm an American living in Malaysia. I just recently (2 months ago) had Covid and the symptoms described in this video are what I am experiencing now. I was feeling numb hands, dizziness so I feel faint, swollen sore knees (so I can't squat to use our squat toilet or kneel for praying). I also felt tired and weak. So, I started intermittent fasting, taking B vitamins, cut down on sugar, and started eating salads for supper with live active-cultured yogurt to improve gut health. This caused me to drop some weight and I started doing 15 min calisthenic workouts. I take it easy and do what I can on workouts and walk 20-30 min every day. I've gotten stronger and the hand numbness is gone. Still, I do feel like my heart rate is abnormally high and my head sometimes feels as if I have mini strokes or imbalance. . Hard to explain...it's like something is crawling inside my skull. It's why I do low impact workouts. I'm 60 and my parents & grandparents lived long lives 90s or above 100. As a stock broker I anticipated living into my 90s so I focused on saving money to last. Now I think I won't live so long with this feeling of mini strokes so I think I should spend my retirement savings. I know we never know when we will die but these long haul symptoms make the possibility of death, sooner than later, feel real. So sad that the doctor passed away. 🙏

Ian, I've been there and I know exactly how you feel. For some reason It was worse during night time, after I had dinner. It took me about 4-5 months to fully recover.

Started off with upset stomach, cough, aches and pains then tiredness and fever, diminished appetite, and hardly any voice. Then a rash on my hands and knees every two days for a fortnight. My voice has practically gone, I'm walking very slowly and can't go far without being exhausted. Things I love doing takes me longer. When I asked my GP what can he recommend apart from electrolytes and rest ...nothing as they don't know enough about it. Had bloods done ...perfect, lungs, blood pressure and pulse ...perfect. Time seems to stand still and becomes like groundhog day, utterly fed up. Hoping all those going through this recover, no one deserves this.

That has been known about since 2019. Most Doctors in the USA are clueless, and lost. The virus targets the Endothelium leading to apoptosis of the cells. This raises Angiotensin II levels and reduces Angiotensin-(1-7). That leads to more damage to the Endothelium. The destroyed Endothelium allows von Willebrand factor to spill into the blood causing clotting. The virus also targets red blood cells using CD147 as opposed to ACE2. The virus should bind to the 1-beta chain of hemoglobin dislodging the iron used to carry O2. This causes hypoxia(lack of oxygen in the blood) in addition to the blood clots that lodge in the capillaries in the alveoli of the lung. If the red blood cells begin to rupture(lysis of erythrocytes), the free heme then binds to von Willebrand factor, preventing it's breakdown. The iron is also a factor. The resulting clotting cascade can be so severe that anti-clotting drugs don't work and the heart explodes due to the blood turning hard. It is doing the opposite of Ebola that prevents clotting. Also viral bound Porphyrin could be infecting cells without ACE2 or CDE147 receptors. The virus is also targeting T-cells like HIV. They need to look at CoViD-19 AIDS, as half of those without symptoms have a suppressed immune system and are being eaten alive by the virus. The immune system causes people to feel sick, so not having symptoms can be due to having AIDS. This virus has inserts from Measles, Mumps, HIV-1, SARS, MERS, and rabbis. It does seem to usually need a high initial exposure dose in most people to get a fatal case, but many will never fully recover.

@@Jack-gl2xw it is one of the worst things that can happen when you are experiencing these kind of symptoms, people do not have continuous panic attacks, by definition panic attacks are temporary. Medicine and science should not be dismissing people with such symptoms and conditions, it should be listening to them and working with them. Patients are not there to get diagnoses that shore up their medical professionals insecurities, they go to their doctor for help and to find out why the physical issues they are experiencing are affecting their lives so badly.

@TsukiNaito1
@TsukiNaito1 3 роки тому
@@lindyashford7744 That's not entirely accurate. Not all anxiety sufferers have these dramatic "panic attack" events. I myself have had GAD for years and have only had 2, one of which was a reaction to medication. Anxiety can also cause some persistent physical symptoms--headache, fatigue, general pain, dizziness, rapid heartrate, etc. And they don't just hit and go, they'll stick around for a while. Might leave you desperately trying to find ways to relax just to feel normal-ish again. Sometimes events that feel like emergencies or symptoms that seem like chronic illness really can be anxiety.
@lindyashford7744
@lindyashford7744 3 роки тому
@@TsukiNaito1, I agree with you in one respect, but the point is that patients are getting told they are having panic attacks, not that they are anxious. Anxiety conditions are ongoing but what is being described by people is not the same. They HAVE a condition they know is physical, they go to find out why they are unwell and their condition is dismissed on the basis of being a panic attack. Even when they are not anxious but are feeling unwell. It is tantamount to saying you are a hypochondriac, and is a kind of put down. I was told this on presenting with breathing difficulties after what could have been a brain event. I was told it was a panic attack, then later when symptoms continued I was given a fibro diagnosis, even without the signs that normally fall into the fibro category. Nearly a decade later I was diagnosed with Atypical Parkinsons and actually I DO have an old infarct that could have been a brain bleed or similar. The default position is to shove you into a box that says MH issues. I had a friend with MS who often got treated like this too, she regularly had to undergo resuscitation due to eosaphageal spasm, and emergency room doctors don’t do resus for nothing. Yet doctors would happily discuss her MS as a ‘functional disorder’ which is medical code for ‘all in the mind’. I feel for you in your suffering from GAD, I know others with it and worked for a while with people who had acute anxiety, but what I and others are describing is different. It is beyond bad to be treated as if you have a behavioural disorder when you are finding that you cannot put one foot in front of another and your quality of life is plummeting. Hopefully now they will start to recognise that they do not have explanations for everything yet, and far from being at the peak of medical understanding there is still a long way to go.

Most had coughs & shortness of breath for some weeks & months after, including me. Mine continued for 18 months+. I ended up having tests on my heart rate. 1st test normal, 2nd test picked up a missed heartbeat. Years later & I still couldn't do the workouts at all that I once did 3-4 times a week. I still live in hope that I will be able to do them again albeit gentler & no strain on my heart. I'm not old. One of my work colleagues had sleep apnea. So getting that strain of flu none of us had any resistance to was a double blow for him. Long respiratory virus issues needs exploring I think.

Yes it's not long haulers this is permanent disability. And when you try to sign up for disability you're being told oh well maybe go to therapy and you'll get better. They sent me to a psychiatrist trying to convince me that I was crazy

Welcome to having Fibromyalgia. I have had the same unexplained symptoms for over 30 years, and every doctor has no explanation and it's all in my head.

Me too. Diagnosed in 2007 as fibromyalgia, but is there a difference to ME/CFS. Maybe doctors will take it all seriously now. I hope its different. Would never wish it on anyone

Same here, Annette!! Not 30 years only 10 for me. Got Covid over the last week from hubby. He is miserable but the pain and fatigue similar to what I experience during a flare up. Are they going to start prescribing anti depression meds to all of these people the way I have been treated I wonder?

I mistook a deer tick bite for a harmless insect bite. Went ten years before a lyme literate doctor figured out it was lyme disease. I had developed fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, tendonitis, stabbing pains, insomnia etc. Was told it was job stress and just getting older. I said BS, I grew up healthy and had healthy pregnancies. Most lyme tests are highly inaccurate.

Yes, this is exactly how my wife experiences symptoms - of varying degrees - and has too frequently been told it was in her head - all because they couldn’t ascertain what was causing it. She eventually was labeled as having fibromyalgia - which many - including many in the health care field - feel is another term for “all in your head.” Tragic, angering and so needing to be addressed.

@@Thesweetface88 I am only here to share my thoughts. And may be to PROTEST GLOBALY PEACEFULLY. Thinking Mind: Wearing a mask YES ,but an imposed PROTOCOL by not pinning the Crime of Humanity wearing a mask and you believe can solved the Problems of Covid? I think not , Imposing Wearing a mask is a sign for Controlled Humans,No one is telling the TRUTH that this PANDEMIC is a CRIME OF HUMANITIES that this,PANDEMIC is ACTIVATED CRIME,WEARING A MASK a sign that the VIRUS is not coming from PEOPLE its Coming elsewhere being SPREADED BY CRIMINALS. CRIMINALS no body have come out to tell the truth because big TIME GLOBAL POWERFUL ELITES making it happens. WEARING A MASK IS A PSYCHOPATIC and you let us believed that the virus definitely coming from HUMANS and because of Innocent HUMANS what a PATHETIC, I DO WEAR A MASK not because of my innocent brothers and sisters not because of the Innocent PEOPLE on the Streets I WEAR A MASK BECAUSE YOU SAID SO ,I WEAR A MASK BECAUSE A CRIMINAL STRIKES AND SPREADING THE VIRUS WITH THEIR FAVORITE AND SELECTED TARGET. Look at you PEOPLE, think and think and think WHO THEN RESPONSIBLE? Are your beloved sons and daughters carries a Covid? Is your beloved wife a Covid? YES DEFINITELY NOT. The time we go out from our shelters are the INNOCENT PEOPLE on the streets carries the virus? Remember they are the same household and families we are talking about. So definitely not, they are not the VIRUS they are not the COVID . They are and we are the Innocent to be victimized by the CRIMINALS. THIS IS THE PROTEST AND THE RIGHT TO LIVE FOR INNOCENT HUMANS AROUND THE GLOBE. "PINNED THE CRIMINALS" You're only sure being SAFE from COVID if you're not the favored Target by CRIMINALS PUTTING COVID ON YOU. This post of mine was censored by social media Especially UKposts.Its up for to analyze it and act according to Human The right to be alive, not being controlled as robot and the right to have free of LIFE. After all the tests come up 'normal', your doctors will be stumped and may possibly think it's psychosomatic or "all in your head" and grow annoyed by you. From then on, they may be more dismissive of any other issue you bring up. They may also make a notation in your medical records that you are a hypochondriac, so other docs will be dismissive as well.

I have to ask…. Has anyone else experienced emotional/hormonal symptoms after covid? I spoke to women who had major physical hormonal symptoms. I had covid a month ago. While I have no physical symptoms anymore, I have been in a serious depression ever since. I am generally a very optimistic, joyful person. Im still getting out and walking multiple times a day, I’m socializing, etc. I just can’t feel happiness. I know for a fact it was the virus. This is not me. I’m wondering if it’s brain related or hormonal. I seriously hope it passes. It’s honestly terrifying.

Adding L-Lysine, Vitamin C, Zinc and B vitamins to my diet has helped. Also as long as I’m taking a digestive enzyme and probiotic and drink lots of water the I usually feeling better energetically. It’s so odd though cause that fatigue will hit me hard and I’ll be out for the day. And all I can do is sleep. Then I’ll be fine for a few days. Also when I drink water all the sudden I have to blow my nose like crazy and a lot of stuff comes out. Invest in a good massager like a massage gun and use it on your feet and back and wherever there is pain. My massage gun has helped me break up knots in my muscle and heal quicker. I try to run my massage gun over the pressure points in my body. Prayers for healing for all of us.

The digestive after effects can be so challenging. I've literally had debilitating stomach pain. I realized recently that I may need a probiotic daily for relief. Appears if I'm anxious, the pain will creep. Year later, still having a plethora of issues. Best Blessings to all.
