Its always grappling but its hard to convince people. In a real one on one fight anyone could have punchers chance but not “grapplers chance”. Keeping things standing just increases the odds of both people getting hurt or one dying. Unless you can guarantee a knockout in one punch without killing someone or getting yourself hurt its better to grapple and submit. Guaranteed to hurt your knuckles regardless if you just want to punch. Its never worth injuries to teach some most likely drunk idiot a lesson theyll just forget. And winning a fight is not worth having to deal with the potential repercussions of killing someone from punching them and their head hitting the floor even if you think you were in the right.

I have enjoyed every short you have made. They always help me, whether it is strengthening my jab, or teaching me how to finish a street fight like in this video! Thank you so much!
@iamshredder3587
@iamshredder3587 3 місяці тому
Yeah just remember knowing "how" someone might finish a particular streetfight does not equate to being able to successfully pull it off in a streetfight yourself. It's rare you could ever just mimick a single technique you saw someone else do on a short video (a double leg, right cross, rnc, friendly handshake and hug, low kicks , whatever. ) even if you drilled it abit... less if didn't... and do it effectively in a fight. Even a sports fight. Without learning the breadth of the fighting system it's part of. Defence, offence, tactics, counters, defending counters, feints, defence, ways of responsibly protecting yourself as you attack and go for the submission or other attack. Everything or at least the fundamentals of it. Like say if you see an exposed neck and go for a guillotine by trying to mimick a fighter you saw do it and dive in to wrap the neck and apply in one move and without knowing how to get the position first and get your opponent secured and under your control.... or to avoid the counters... odds are they'll just break loose and double leg you down and take side control and , don't know the system you're in trouble. Get my point? So it might not be the funniest thing to sit through a long video teaching all the finer points of back control or the philosophy, defence, escaping etc. But I bet it's awhole lot funner than getting beaten to a pulp someone choking you out and nor letting go. I think if you're not planning on being a pro sports fighter (which I'd advise to not be tbh) and wished to just be able to get fighting fit and improve your odds of surviving and having the best outcome should you get into a fight or get assaulted ... then you're better off focusing on one fairly simple but effective system and the most high functionality and high percentage parts of it. Rather than just taking in a bunch of random bits and pieces from countless sources that you think look cool in whatever Anyway its just my opinion , take it or leave it. Good luck gotta go

@lukasrose8283 2 місяці тому

And that is why boxing is one of the best sport for short-term self defense. You can learn to punch, maintain distance and dodge effectively in 3 months. And punches are always the safer option in a street fight. And if you want to go deep, you can do a year of boxing, then a year of Muay Thai, then go to a complete martial art with dirty fighting and floor work, spend 2 more years, and you'll be a scary fighter. Spent 10 more years there and enjoy Bruce Lee level combat skill. Or don't, I have seen some 15 years karate black belt who can't throw a punch, so it's all up to how and why you train.

A modification to the shirt grab is make sure you grab them by their right shoulder (handful of jacket/shirt/sweater/etc) with your left hand and stiff arm them. This only works if you're both right handed and they have a weak/useless left, which most people are. It basically leaves them unable to punch and leaves your right hands free to swing. I've used it a few times and it's been very effective for me. Doesn't work as well if the other guy is a lot bigger though.
