It’s been a few weeks since I’ve posted, I apologize for this as I procrastinated this travel vlog, then I got sick. But it’s here now!
So come along with me as I spend a weekend away in Helsinki.
The first day I arrived alone and took in the city solo, along with my handy dandy camera.
Then my group came and we went to Tallinn for a day trip the following day.
Our third and final day found us roaming around the city with the remaining time we had.
We ate, we drank, we ate again! All in all, good fun.

I love how you liked our libraries ❤. Nowadays when shops are more and more inside malls libraries are often the only place where you can hang around without being pressurized to consume. Especially for younger folks that's a big thing, because malls often frown upon people who just want to hang with their friends.

Hey Florida Gal, remembering my trip to Florida about 30 years ago, I was as amazed there as You are here in Helsinki. Tourism really broaden one's wiews completely. Let's keep up the traditions.

and adjust the music and voice volumes the same levels when editing. So we can just sit back and watch and enjoy. And to think, I am borderline hearing aid. You must be like Ted Nugent always said, If the music is too loud then you are too old. He has been wearing hearing aids for many years now. duh. 😁😁

I'm glad the early Spring sun greeted you. And there was some snowing too. That Tallinn trip seemed like an enjoyable part of the February randomness also. For me the highlight was you on the frozen water for the first time.

I'm from Sweden, but i absolutely love Finland! My grandfather were from Finland so i grew up learning a lot about their country and it's an amazing place to live in and i bet it won't be long until they top the charts out of every Nordic country out there.. Happy to see more and more people experiencing the Nordic culture and their beautiful countries❤

Nice video! By the way it was the Baltic Sea that was frozen and you walked on. It is safe to walk on most of the winter as long as the temperatures stay cold enough. Glad you got a nice and relatively warm winter weather. I live in Helsinki, and also visited Tallinn just over a week ago. Going to Florida next month, not sure how I will survive the heat!

Oh that’s really cool, I didn’t know that! I thought the weekend we went was sooooo cold, but we dressed properly at least. Have the best time in Florida, it shouldn’t be too unbearable at the moment. It’s July and august that are a little difficult 😊

@@afloridagalabroad Thanks, hope so! Especially if it's windy, the weather can feel really cold, and usually you need a few days to get used to colder weather, so not surprising it felt cold! I think coldest days in Helsinki were around -15c this winter, some winters it may go down to -25c for short periods of time. Bonus on the colder days is that the sun is usually visible!

@@afloridagalabroad Glad to her that! Finland in summer is great! Late July - August probably best time. As we are quite North, the days are really long in the summer with just few dark night hours. Finnish sauna + swimming in a lake is a great activity. Temperatures are probably closer to Florida winter temps, around 20 celcius is common, rarely going above 25c.

16:00 That is the Citycenter mall. Espresso House is actually Swedish, but it is mainly in Nordic countries. Fazer is Finnish. One of the best chocolates in the world.

Oh that’s so good to know. I’m curious about Espresso House, is it more popular than Starbucks? 🤔 I had some nice dessert at Fazer, we didn’t take time to get chocolate as it was getting very busy, but I’ll be back and try!!

Nice to you loved our country! You had Lucky day walked over Baltic Sea on ice! Nice weather and because global climate warming has done damges even our nature this might last winters when you can experince something new! In good winters we have even south ice roads open when you can drive even car over sea!

I like brown girls in Finland. Its exotic. Many often watch but don't talk so it's safe. Not like I see some videos where beautiful girl walks in streets of New York and many mens are flirting and hitting them. Not in FInland. Maybe some drunk say something.

Sorry to hear about your friend's food poisoning! It's apparently quite typical on the ferry's buffer so if your friend had some food from that, it's a possible culprit.

You know,.... I absolutely didn't take that into consideration! She was thinking it was a yoghurt she ate a little while before that she brought with her but ya! it could've been the ferry!

The Baltic Sea is kind of like a giant lake. Low salinity allows it to freeze over.

Which ferry line did you take to Tallin? Did you have any rough waters? I'm going in a couple weeks from Helsinki too. from Georgia. Wonder whether to get the 730 boat too. I'm going to try to sauna there.

Hello! I got my ticket on Tallink, it was very easy process and I think I had the app downloaded (since deleted) and was able to have mobile ticket. I got my 7:30 ferry that way. Just be careful of the food as I guess my friend got sick from that. The waters were very smooth! Also because the ferry is so large, I think you’ll be fine even in a little rough waters

Lucky enough it wasn’t from Finland! I know, it wasn’t really clear in the video 😞. It was from something she brought with her she wanted to finish but it had gone bad, and it was after we ate

@@afloridagalabroad Actually, it kind of IS springweather🙃. Nowadays winters are milder, hasn't been those those -25°C - 30° C periods of couple weeks lately. In Southern Finland, I mean. Ice breakers haven't had work in Baltic Sea either, not even in the Bothnian Bay every winter.

Incidentally the only place in the US I have visited was Miami, Florida. And I'm well aware it was not very representative of the greater United States. Maybe one day they'll stop with the concentration camps and such and I can go see the marvelous climbing opportunities and Burning Man.

I miss Helsinki a lot. Looking forward to visit it again, even I would prefer to life on the country side, close to the city. And yes, there is a reason why traveling to other countries isn't as much promoted in the U.S.. This is a industry that makes a loooooot of money and they want to keep that money inside the U.S.. Granted, libraries keep humans running into walls. But at the end humans stay stupid, at least I disagree that we are an intelligent species. Too much stupid decisions are made on the personal level and mostly accepted which are made on government level. However, most important is that you made a good choice and did enjoy your time.

Exactly right. I think the thing is recently, there’s a lack of “third spaces” outside of the work and home. There’s starting to be fewer and fewer places to simply be and exist!

OH, I cannot watch this after 2 minutes. Very loud music so I have to turn my volume down and then when you speak, and I have to turn the volume back up again. Up and down and up and down. It is rare that I have found some who do this because they don't know how to level out their audio sounds at the same level. Too annoying. bye.
