I’m with everyone. I seriously hope that we have four or five teams that can genuinely fight for podiums/wins, causing the field to be incredibly competitive. With that being said, I’m so glad that Pat Symonds made it known that they’re not going to “shoot from the hip” and immediately destroy innovations that teams come up with. This is Formula 1. Not Indycar. There is a Formula of which you must design the best car within. Constantly punishing teams for being innovative and successful is only going to discourage taking risks. I know that most fans are more interested in the drivers championship, but I am way more into the constructors personally. I think it’s incredible watching engineers, designers, and mechanics all work together around a driver of which extracts the most performance out of regulations prescribed by a governing body. I enjoy the interpretations that these incredibly smart people draft up and implement. I enjoy seeing different cars which each has their own unique characteristics, alongside engines with different philosophies and ways of extracting performance. Nevertheless, let’s hope that we can get the best of both worlds out of these regulations. I think there will initially be two or three teams that run away with it this year, but we’ll see. Alpine and Williams are my teams to watch out for. Alpine to put up a championship challenge, and Williams to be P5.

I often wonder why teams like mclaren, Ferrari, and Williams are all of a sudden struggling. Then I remember the biggest set of regulation changes in ages is coming, spending money to make the current regulation chassis that much faster just wasn’t worth it. I expect those three teams in particular to have a massive boost in performance compared to red bull and merc.

I could do this guy’s job much better. Here is how I would improve F1: - a set number of laps for each race to be driven backwards - water sprinklers that go off at random times - snakes in the cockpit for a part of the race - rocket boosters that increase speed to 500 kph for a few seconds - spikes on the wheels like those ancient Roman chariots - releasing a few dozen goats on the track during the race - give drivers a basket of banana peels that they can deploy during the race, Mario Kart style
