Going out looking for dispersed campsites in my Overland 4Runner. I finally found a great campsite until I started hearing gun shots after sunset nearby and had to leave suddenly.

Hey, thanks for making adventure videos like this. I started watching your channel 8 years ago and spent a lot of time living off grid out in OR and many other places. These days, due to health issues I can't camp anymore but I'm grateful I can live vicariously through your videos!

You need to get yourself a Silky Saw Big Boy folding saw. They will cut through 6" diameter logs like butter and then fold right up and store in a pretty small space.
@Into_The_Mystery_1313 днів тому
I think that’s gonna be the way to go

Ironing out the issues and putting in the groundwork, you are ahead of the curve man. In societal breakdown the prepped are the wisest. Pawn that s.o.b. chainsaw🤣

@freedompanda943813 днів тому
Bro! If you carry something, make sure it’s something you use. Chainsaw…you mentioned you could carry tons of firewood…and you have a chainsaw! I live off grid. I’m cooking my lunch on my wood stove as I type this, literally. Chop your wood when you get somewhere! And I think you’ve got a small axe…inside wet logs is dry wood. 🪵 Use that baby! 😂👍🏼👍🏼
@Into_The_Mystery_1313 днів тому
I’m working on that!
@antoniobaez628213 днів тому
There are more aggressive hand saws, with burly teeth, foldable blade that you should consider replacing that construction hand saw with.
@Into_The_Mystery_1313 днів тому
That’s good advice, thank you

Newt orgy, lol so cute; never saw one before. I like how you know some plants too. I will continue to check you out… I have a 4 runner too.

Too bad your awning is in the way of moving your cargo box over. It's meant to be accessed on the passenger side. I love that I can get in my Thule from both sides. That's a nice trash bag. I need to figure out a way to have something like that.

"There is no change without pain"..The beaver on my property always sit on top of their damn, I watch them all the time with the binoculars.. Their home is inside of the creek bank connected to the damn..I used to go on alot of canoe expeditions, in Canada, Alaska and in the States..When I was way out there I would live on fish mostly, but I've eaten lots of beavers and porcupines, which are both loaded with fat and extremely tasty..And fat is what you need to thrive, despite what people think..Back in the day, alot of trappers would get weak, sick or even die without eating a fatty animal, it's called rabbit starvation..You could eat several rabbits a day and still starve w/o getting the fat from fish or a fatty animal. Or get protein poisoning..Fat is essential for cellular functions and our digestive processes..Porcupine is an Iroquois Indian word..The Iroquois called the Algonquin Indians "Porcupine's" because they ate the inner bark on trees, in times of desperation, just like the animal porcupine does..The Iroquois had perfected farming while the Algonquin's were hunter gatherers..

Some guys I know here in Europe made a deal with a farmer to store a small shipping container on his land with a power hookup. They use it for storage and as a shared workshop. Just thought I'd mention it in case the concept makes sense for you instead of a storage unit.

Spruce run area never has a burn ban, which goes all the way to nehalem falls campground, with free camping in the middle, and a little after nehalem falls to the left is cook creek with more free camping 😉
