What was with the nylon cable ties in the intro thumbnail? Nylon won't form a decent mechanical, let alone chemical bond with polypropylene or polyethylene!? Great vid and thanks btw Nik... why not use some scrap poly or ethy plastic as feedstock for more thickness?

Nice ! It would be interesting also to use normal staples as heated staples for the same use.

Well done. Perhaps you could pierce the ends of the crack with a tiny drill bit or hot pin. That will keep it from continuing past where it currently stops. Then seal those holes and complete the repair.
