The disgust, hatred, and fear. All an addictive drug that could never leave your system. Made all the sweeter once every single one fell into despair once coming to accept the true monster you are. Truly their wails of pain, their begging, and demands of change were music to your ears. And the heroes. How delightful it was to watch as they too succumb to despair after desperately arguing for the greater good. How they preach to you about the good of humanity and the love everyone has. Really now their righteous spill was agonizing to listen to, but there was always a sweet treat to witness the hero’s flounder over themselves once you’d dissect their arguments with meticulous care. Oh, and how they’d all expect you to monologue. Expect you to make a mistake that would give way to failure. But, they all seemed to forget that you are not some fictional villain that would willingly allow mistakes to end your carefully laid plans. “Why darling, of course, I am because being sane is dreadfully boring.” You’d always say with a laugh before slipping away from their grasps.
