I love the detail in the store where there’s an aisle full of chips because people didn’t want to risk making noise while eating them it’s a nice detail that showed that the filmmakers cared about the movie they were making.

I enjoy this movie because I just adore Reagan’s character so much, she’s like the lovechild of all my favorite character traits and she does so great not being the stereotypical deaf person. Not only does she play her role extremely well but she looks the part too! I’ve never been able to find a favorite character in any media, but now she’s certainly number one on the list.

movies that use hearing/seeing deprivation are probably the scariest. when you can't see or hear the threat, it's even more terrifying. but these are my favorite type of horror movies because it relies on psychological horror, rather than cheap jump scares and gore.

8:54 Probably nobody will believe me but I’ve done that and it was in the ball of my foot so I know how hard it actually would be to keep quite! I was 9 at the time and it was hard not to scream since I was hanging out with my friend and her little siblings and I didn’t want to scare them. I was barefoot and we were playing tag at their house we went to the back of the house to play in the tall grass and suddenly when I take a step I stepped on a 2 by 4 that had a 3 inch nail sticking out of it! I didn’t scream when I stepped on the nail or when I had to step on part of the 2 by 4 so I could pull my foot up off the nail but I had to go to the hospital since the nail was outside for who knows how long! I had gauze wrapped around my foot for weeks and if I put the heel of my foot down at all the pain was like I stepped on the nail all over again. Despite it being 11 years since that I still keep the heel of my foot from touching the ground when I’m standing still even though it no longer hurts to do so.

John Krasinskis death is by far one of the saddest and best deaths in any horror movie in my opinion. It's so incredibly done and just ends like every character arc in the movie

@@brots3 I feel like it falls under the category of a horror movie tho, the whole movie is a build up on how are they supposed to fight a monster with super sonic hearing without making any sound. Thats actually like cookie cutter horror imho. Keeps a sense of dread throughout the entire movie, it even has jumpscares, albeit done in a very different but similar fashion.

I would LOVE this kind of premise used in a survival horror game like Resident Evil. They could even add an optional mechanic like the one in alien isolation where if you make a loud noise in the real world, the in-game monsters will hear it.
