I remember reading about a similar Fable in school. Though I forgot the name. It was about the worker who dropped his axe into the water, then a sea creature brought back 3 axes a silver one, a gold one, and the man's rusted one. He said the the rusted one was his, and the sea creature liking his honesty gave him all three. After telling another worker this story. He threw his axe in the ocean, and the same sea creature came back with the 3 axes. And the man claimed his axe was the gold one. Angered by him lying the sea creature took all 3 axes back into the water.
