My favorite homers of his tend to be the ones that make no sense. He hits a ball in a way that is a lazy floating liner around 250-300 feet in the outfield for basically every other player, but he sends it 400+ feet over a wall.

That was Judges 5th. I have no doubt he will be leading the team soon. Where he really needs some catchup is with the average. He's gonna have to have a couple really good months to get it back around .280-.300

Check his numbers. He has a ton of homers in late close situations.

Not really true. Even back in the old days, many Japanese players coming over decided to play on the west coast. Hideo Nomo was the first big Japanese star to come here and he chose LA. Only Japanese players I remember the Yankees strongly pursuing and not getting were Yamamoto this off season and Matsuzaka years ago. Though I could be remembering wrong. Shohei made it clear he wanted to play out west.
