*Fun facts:* Rock Goes to College (RGTC) was a BBC series that ran between 1978 and 1981 on British television. A variety of up-coming rock oriented bands were showcased live from small venues and broadcast simultaneously on television and radio during a 40-50 minute live performance. It was a follow-on to the mid-1960s BBC series Jazz Goes to College. The venues were small university, polytechnic or college halls holding a few thousand people; often tickets were given to the Students' Union to distribute for free. The bands chosen were also, in some cases, bands which did not have a mainstream following at that time although many went on to be very successful. A BBC DJ would also be present to introduce the band for the television audience. In general, many of these performances will have only have been shown a very limited number of times on TV and in some cases only once. Very few of these concerts seem to have made it to legal DVD (such as the Bill Bruford, both John Martyn and a sample of AC/DC). Bootlegs exist created from original TV (although very few domestic video recorders were around at the time) and radio broadcasts (through cassette tapes) as well as subsequent repeats. In particular, the AC/DC, Specials, Robin Trower, Ian Gillan, Cars, Police and U2 DVDs, CDs and tapes are commonly found advertised on trader's sites. Some of the shows, such as AC/DC and The Police, have been recently broadcast on VH1 Classic on the show BBC Crown Jewels. (Wikipedia)

I just wish I could find a time machine and go back to that cold night in 1980 and go wake up or carry Bon out of that cold car. Its not that I have anything against Brian Johnson, but AD/DC was Bon, Angus and Malcom. Too many of our rockers were taken too early.

I really feel like Angus and Malcolm took their song writing to the next level on Back in Black. Also Brian Johnson's singing and vocal writing were fantastic. Bon was a big fan of Brian Johnson before in Brians prior band. I bet Bon is happy with the band's outcome. Would have loved to hear Bon Scott sing those later tracks though.

Nothing really very fancy--just the basics done to perfection: expert drums by Phil, totally locked-in rhythm guitar/bass by Malcom and Cliff (all three of whom stay in the back laying the foundation) while Angus runs around and solos with impunity and Bon hits the notes and screams as needed on vocals. What a fine-tuned rock machine seen here close to the height of their powers. They would hit the big time after Bon's death in 1980, but there's something special about this era of the band.

Indeed he was. Also a clever lyricist - his lyrics have a wry intelligent humour which has been missing since he died - and a great frontman. Journey came on after then Blue Oyster Cult then the headliner Ted Nugent. Ted put on a great gig. He was pretty fucked up at the end , last video of him I think was Top of the Pops they did Touch too much, I had a suspicion he was on something more than just booze, their manager. said he was amazed that he lasted that long, got him out hospital too drunk , fighting, getting chicks pregnant, he probably would of died of liver cancer eventually from the amount of alcohol he drank, but no argument he was a absolute performer
