This defense reminded me a lot of the 92-93 defense when they won the natty under Gene Stallings. Straight up hateful, inhumanly athletic, smart, you name it. I will say it seemed like they lost a bit of their identity when Eddie Jackson got hurt. Still, in my opinion, one of the best defenses of all time

In my eyes , the defense did their job this year.. offense scored off of QB runs and RB runs.. we weren't deadly with our passing game and definitely overthrew alot of passes during the championship game.

Hamilton was so underrated as a linebacker. When he went down in the SEC Championship it really hurt us in the Natty.

Saban really turned this team around when he arrived and we're all grateful. My daughter-in-law graduated from there. When they lose a game, I do not scream foul but say, the "other team won fair and square." This 2020/21 season, we won fair and square. A couple of close games, but we won at the end. This is the 2016 team. Stat wise they were better in 2017 and won the Natty. Both years they lead the nation in allowed PTS/G = 11.8. 2nd in nation total defense. Led by Jeremy Pruitt. Impressive. Pruitt should have stayed put.

i put this defense over the 2011 because the talent was insane...like 20 NFL starters, 8 first round picks, 7 pro bowlers and 5 AP in current day but they were feared Fitz, MH, Ronnie, Averette, Evans, Ham, Foster, Payne,Dalvin, Allen, Hand, Anderson with Diggs, QWill, RaeDavis, Jennings, Mack on the bench is unfair
