Second, when did Fields ever look like a guy who was ready to beat out Fromm in 2018? He was a true freshman with elite talent, but anybody who watched him could see that he wasn’t ready to take over. Now if he had stayed, I would bet a lot of money that he would’ve been the starter in 2019. I felt that way then and Fromm’s regression in 2019 made me even more sure of that. I have no problem with Justin’s decision to leave. It worked out great for him and I’m happy about that. I just don’t get why people blame Kirby so much for what happened. He didn’t force Fields to leave. He played the best QB he had AT THAT TIME and he never got a chance to choose Justin when he was ready to take over in 2019.

I have a lot of mixed feelings about Tua. He was the first Bama QB that Saban ever let throw the ball around like that. So as a Bama fan it was exciting to see the high scores. But in Tua's defence he was really banged up leading into this game and it only got worse as the game went on. What I don't like about him just sometimes he would try to make plays that just were not there. And he would sometimes hang on to the ball too long. But the talent is there and I think his ceiling is still much higher so I'm pulling for him with the Dolphins. They def need a better offensive line. After this year with Mac I am still just blown away by Mac's ability to 80% of the time throw the ball exactly where it needed to be. Mac surprised us all

That is not taking away from his natural talents, which he has plenty of, but to take five years to start after getting beaten out by TWO underclassmen (Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa) at Alabama should tell you something.

Pro football focus breaks down every qb's passing every year and Mac's 2020 season was comparable to Burrow's with half as many 1st round receivers for like 70% of the season. Mac broke the QBR/accuracy records. Also rewatch 2019 Clemson vs Alabama game and tell me Tua looked great, against every top 10 defense he sucked. Also there were some Dolphin players who anonymously said they didn't believe in Tua. He just doesn't know how to throw it away or check down and THAT is what lead to his injuries. I hope he learns, but I doubt it.
