After watching the fight again ,i muted the crowd , islem clearly won the first round without discussion, for the second round it was close but volk did nothing the 2 time islem go down wasn't because volk punch he doesn't even hit him , the third one it was very close but we can give it to volk , the 4th round , islam did better significant strick and hold him down , grappling is part of the game , the punchs Land by volk was nothing i see no damage there , for the 5 round it goes easly and clearly to volk he got à ko and hold him down ( only 1 min) before this min he got a née in his face also islem did good damage this round but still not enough compare to volk , actualy islam easly win this fight maybe 4-1 or 3-2 still the same result , the problem is that we expect more from islem and less from volk that why we feel like volk did better then islem in this fight , great takedown défense from volk but no point given when you défense takedown Just like no point when you avoid a punch, islem has succefully acomplish 50% takedown , and manage better in stricking then we expect , i see even in rematch volk Will never done better then this fight , if we forget about our expectation we can give the fight easly to islem , great job volk he did good ,it was almost close fight but you Will never get like this opportinuty twis, missing khabib in islem corner has big effect on him , i guess if khabib was there with his advice islem Will have more succès in takedown and maybe got the submission

After watching twice, Islam easily won round 1 & slightly won round 2. Volkanovski easily won round 3 and completely dominated him in round 5. Round 4 is the difference. Islam took him down & took his back. That's points. But here's the problem: Islam wasn't anywhere near a submission even having his back. It was easy to see he was just hanging onto his back for dear life because he was too gassed to scramble or standup. And the biggest indicator for scoring a round is who did more damage. Volkanovski was the one who was actually landing hits. Islam was holding onto his back while Volk was punching him in the face & talking trash firing up the crowd. He didn't take any damage in the 4th round while Islam did get punched in the face. So if the fight was scored correctly, Volk won the 4th round. Slightly, but he won. He had the momentum going into the 5th for a reason. In the 5th round, Volk had much more in the tank, defended every takedown, dominated the clinch, dropped him with a right hook, got on top and mauled him to end the fight. Every judge with eyes could see that Islam was gassed and battered while Volk was pumped and ready to go 3 more rounds. They scored it using the points system meaning Islam won because he had more "control time" hugging Volk's back in the 4th round. This was the wrong way to score it. Volk was in higher spirits as the fight went on. He took Islam's soul in the 3rd round & he was fired up even being in the worst positions. This all counts when scoring a fight. If it was a "real fight" or if there was a round 6, Volk would've finished him.

If yall watch any mma breakdown with slow motion analysis they will explain why islam won. Significant strikes landed were more damaging than alexs. He never got good damage on him till the last round. All the times islam fell was cus he just lost balance. First two rounds are clearly islams, fighting off a submission the whole 4th round looses you the round. 3-2 islam. Rematch is a must cus i think volk has a chance, not as good but gave him the biggest challenge islam will probably ever face. Congrats to volk and congrats islam for the dub

seemed alexander won overall.... it looked like islam became less the aggressor later in round one and perhaps even alexander's foot work was becoming momentous on the feet too. however, id like to say islam landed the two best hits up to that point and round two... one of which was in the first round as he was being pressured and this sequence happening again in the second round. alexander's resistance to islam's grappling was increasing, but islam landed a few good attempts and something of suddenly... using grappling as an alternative to counter striking on the feet.

Wow after that performance how could they possibly agree with giving Islam the win. 3 rounds to 2 rounds for Alex. The last round I would have given a 10 8 for Alex. Alex was so badly robbed. Pretty sure it's because of the bets being made. It would cost to much to give it to Alex. That's the only way I can see them given Islam the win. Ridiculous!
