for some weird reason, production related stuff (such as graphics, sound board, stage design) gets me more excited about the contest than most of the songs. the package sort of indicates what direction the organising broadcaster is going in terms of production

In 2022 grand final the camera that moved over the arena during the stage ready shot broke down, so all we saw was a weirdly positioned static shot of the arena with the stage ready playing

there was just something so mystical about the 2021 sound.

2021 really looked good, but imagine how the effect would have been with a standing audience all the way in front of the stage as it was intended for 2020…

Have you noticed that 2013 and 2016 had similar sound effects and music?

2013 is underrated.

2006 - Really short, sweet with nice lighting and water animation. 2011 - Drags on and the vocal chop is awkward. I get the feeling they tried to convey the excitement of the show through the heartbeat but it just didn’t work. 2012 - Boring and uninteresting, barely anything happening, matches the dreary atmosphere of the contest that year. 2013 - Lively with nice butterfly effect, Sweden made this show really lively and a breath of fresh air after 2012. 2014 - Nice animation with cool zoom, uses the impressive camerawork of the competition that year effectively. 2015 - A bit plain but the design of the stage helps make it a little less flavourless than 2012. 2016 - Sweden never fails, again with the lovely approach and quick transition. 2017 - This one is very basic, probably the worst. Way too awkwardly quiet too, there’s nothing else besides the crowd noise which makes for no impact. 2018 - Love the water animation and the lighting is timed nice, love that cinematic sound too. 2019 - Easily my favourite. The flag on the roof is a brilliant idea and the transition is short and sweet! 2021 - Benefits primarily from the same flag trick as 2019, but slightly less impressive. Still solid! 2022 - Would’ve been nice if the sun effect was done on the sun with a zoom out, but the animation is clear and smooth, and it’s short and sweet

2022 put little to no effort to make the show interesting. Everything from camera angles to the sound FX department was so underwhelming. I really liked 2021’s sound FX and stage ready visuals, downside is it’s all AI

2022 was so lazy. It should’ve been with the use of the sun. I highly recommend the artwork visualisation of AAA Design. It would’ve been miles ahead.

RAI completely disappointed me this year, I had expectations about everything I would see in Turin and last year's production in Rotterdam went up a notch in terms of the work that would be done. Another sad fact is that although the preparation was excellent, the shows were tiring and were saved by the presenters. Lucky for us, next year the BBC will organize and produce and then it's another level...

Rotterdam got the sickest stage

By 2015 the opening of each country's performance by combining the Logotype with the country's flag colours was a very beautiful and creative idea! SVT in 2016 did use that only limitedly for the transitions effects whilst the opening for the performances was just the name of the country in different styles and fonts! Since then, this Name - Only tradition was continued in 2017 and 2018 whose graphics lacked of imagination and stylistic designs, unfortunately! The designs in 2019 were much better really, but this was even maintained in 2021! I am afraid that each host broadcaster just "copies" the effects of the previous year and adapts to each year's thematic design, which really from my perspective is a bad habit which destroys the stylistic and design effect of the contest! I understand that each graphic design is unique and creative in its own way, however if this Country Name - Only presentation is maintained, the song contest will reduce its impressive - effect physis! Each Year's edition should be unique in terms of creativity and really resemble the host country. Please, having almost the same pattern every year, for God's shake, shows really a very amateurish job in terms of the production, which projects a very negative image for the hosting country! Just imagine the low production quality of Turin 2022! Italy really lost the chance for promoting their beautiful country, by just creating a show which did not bring anything that Italy has been known for! Please, make the contest creative and beautiful again! Not just producing shows that do not resemble the desingful part of the contest!

Why is it that so many things broke at Turin? The sun, the stage ready camera...

2022 is kinda similar to 2018 and it is nothing special. I also realised there are so many elements of the stage that are already used before. Ect. water in 2014 stage, triangle floor and side catwalks in 2019, that kinetic sun looked like staging for Germany in 2018, also those background lights that were in Spains performance were similar in 2018 stage ect. Melovin. It is kinda unoriginal when i think about it.
