when i say i almost threw my computer out a window im not making it up, i froze the monster and i was like ok now what and a second griffin came flying in landed on and destroyed the frozen one, i alt f4 and just stared at my desktop laughing so hard like a moment of insanity took me.

I killed Medusa and got the best version of the head but on the way to the Griffin I was attacked by a Chimera and since I heard the head had multiple charges, I tried to petrify the Chimera... he turned towards me and hit me and apparently that imediately destroys the head.

Best way to get a persevere head is being a Wayfinder, using the Magic Archer skill that put enemies to sleep. Then with a slashing weapon attack the head once she is sleep. Insta kill with a perfect head to boot.

There’s an augment for Sorcerer called ‘Stasis’ which slows the decay process of items.

One of, if not the easiest way to get a preserved head is to go on Thief (or Warfarer with daggers) and bring a mage pawn with Lightning Affinity. Wait until your daggers are enchanted with the lightning buff, then have your pawns 'Wait' and stab away on only her head. It tends to rip off the head about 2 health bars in pretty consistently.

So I’m pretty sure people have already done this, but I was able to get to Battahl through the caves on the right side instead of the gate with the beast mask or the other left side of map like I see recommended. I just thought I’d let some know in case y’all wanted a different option. Yall probably know this though lol

@2:40 you probably would just use the stealth mechanic for theives to get by the guard without being noticed.

6:43 - 6:53 is such a mood 😂 Also what really sucked for me was that when I commanded my pawns to wait, they would stay there until I get into a fight with the Medusa, to which they all come charging into the lair and just completely ruin the fight for me. Even when I spammed the wait command when I noticed they started moving. After the fight, they just go back to waiting outside 😒

Can’t wait to beat this game and play it again now that I know as much as I do. I never do that but this games been so damn fun

just having the bow isn't enough, you have to get the killing blow with it. it's also almost 4x heavier than any other bow so i don't recommend using batthali enhancing.

The head decays sooooooo fast. I didn't even make it back to a storage location and it was already done...

I really hope when they do inevitably have dlc that they bring back silence, petrification, dark and other elemental status effects and debilitations that they haven't put in yet!

Guarantee to take her best head, use Thief and have a mage that gives you the lightning enchant. Climb up and tear her up and her heads comes off pretty quick.

The bow is awesome for leveling quickly using it on Warfarer.

Easiest way to get the preserved head is : be warfarer, have sporific (sleep arrow) on magic archer and just any blade weapon. So sleep medusa, and swap to bladed weapon and slash at her head. Boom, easy

You can also Petrify her with her own head so you dont have to get the shield or switch vocations. Just put the head in your storage and at best have a portstone set up infront of her lait to reduce traveltime / decay time

after i defeated medusa, i hadn't noticed my pawn picked up the head. i didnt know it existed. she wasted it on a goddamn cyclops.

quick tip, wear te courtly gear and you just waltz in, soldiers dont even look. just dont walk in the front door, one guard does get uppity

Easiest way to get a perfect Medusa head so far for me is by using the warfarer vocation, with the magic archer use the soporific arrow skill to put her to sleep then use the use the Indomitable lash skill from the warrior vocation on her head and that cuts her head clean ! Takes no more than 30 seconds to beat her like this usually :)

I never used the key to enter the vault under the castle. I used high salamander as a sorcerer to kill the guard (hit the door with it too) and walked into the vault which was unlocked. I’m thinking that high salamander either broke the door or bugged it so I could just walk in.

I totally did the sculpture quest without using Medusa…

Took me almost an hour to beat it with an archer vocation, two of my pawns died right away, only me and a level 54 support kindhearted pawn left, I am level 35, the arrow I use is darkening storm with the maxxed out swirling shots, I just hide and wait until the red eye srtop scanning then keep hitting the tail..I cant get the head but I am only after the medusan spell bow, it was very intense but rewarding..

I didnt know her head decomposed after time so when I went back to freeze her with her own head and it was rotted. So when you get it immediately put it in your storage until you're ready to use it

The guard won't spawn if you are wearing the guard outfit you find in the castle. Also, there is an augment that reduces spoil time that might be useful here.

You can also walk into the vault without using a key or knocking out the guard when diss is in the vault, just don’t get caught idk what happens lol, the guard was standing at the top of the stairs for me so I just walked past and straight into the vault

Just get her down, stand by her head and use a Triangle/Y Button execution with a slashing weapon. Came off for me first try while she was still on her first health bar.

There is also a ring that totally stops petrification buildup. I haven’t tested it on Medusa yet but I am pretty sure she is exactly what the ring is in the game for.

14 - 15 days on a bench, 5 or 6 if you own a residence. That applies to a majority of the big monsters i believe

Go in as thief (don’t use frosted blades) with JUST your main pawn as mage. Don’t give her any attack skills. Just lightning affinity, halidom, and maybe celestial paen (celerity if you don’t have it). Put the ring on her that stops all petrification buildup. Halidom should be fine for getting you time to climb Medusa. You should have lightning affinity and speed increase by then. Quaff your savagery extract and then just go to town on her head with carve.

Using a Magick Archer just put her to sleep with the sleep shot, it only takes a few shots. Then your pawns will run to the head and chop it right off - works every time for me.

Can u get the head by using explosive arrows? Or does it need to be cut with a dagger/sword like weapon ?

Easy way to get into the vault at any time is to throw a box at the guard, then grab them while they're staggered, and run all the way up to the kitchen before throwing them, giving you enough time to run inside. Once you're in, you're safe from everything, and can walk out without consequences.

If you wait at the ox cart stand instead of a bench, a full day passes, I believe.

Thats what your needing all the ferry stones and the other stones to pick a spot to go back to with the ferry stone yoy have to set all thst up first to make it more easier if you dont want it easy when you do it

Use the thief vocation and use the bolts from the blue daggers. Easy peasy.

The funny thing about the vault quest for me is that I didn't even encounter a guard I was just exploring around and I was like a vault why is this unguarded,broke in with the vault key and got a bunch of good loot had a really low level

Honestly, the easiest and safest way to get a preserved Medusa head is to use Sopfiric arrow on her with Magick archer 3 times which does 0 dmg. And then swap to Great sword and use Indomitable Lash on her head as she sleeps.

you can kill medusa instantly if you put her asleep with sedative arrow(magic archer) and chop off her head directly with slashing damage, earning a preserved head each time

i didn't realize medusa was a secret boss i just missed i beat the game yesterday and never encountered her once

I killed her really easy just by climbing on her to her head and cutting her head off, but the head rots in your inventory at least mines did and I never got to,try it out

So if you already did the sculptor quest without even thinking about a Medusa, is there any point in worrying about the quality of the head? So much to this game, never even thought about petrifying the griffon, I just figured I had to kill it slowly.

I think half of the arguments in dd2 are broken ive unlocked the stasis argument which decreases the rate of items deteriorates id assume that this slows down medusas head so u can use it alot i got a preserved medusa head with the stasis argument on started to use it on enemies then it went from a preserved head to just a medusas head there are other arguments that dont seem to be working right the one where its suppose to reduce stamina when using a weapon skill I've noticed with or without the argument the stamina still goes down the exact time then their rank up values are f*ed up as well my main pawn has ranked up 10 time and shes received - on everything ive changed her vocations several times shes at rank 127 and she isn't receiving no damage magick damage increases or defensive or magick defensive increases so i dont know if this is intentional by capcom or its a bug but capcom needs to fix it ASAP plus why the hell did capcom add a max endurance on the rank up info when since rank 1 to where im currently on that has never gotten any rank up values if capcom doesn't fix these values properly im thinking of suing capcom because i think its unfair that bosses has more health damage unlimited spell casting whiched ive noticed with drakes they summon lighting attacks then quickly summon meteors not long after and i really hate the goblins super jump attacks i was on a high rock impossible for any enemy to jump at me but for a goblin he super jumped attacks me and hits me i said whatever capcom needs to make this game 50/50 balanced cos at the moment its not what i want them to do is cap all the rank up values to either 10 or 15 on each so we all are on par with the enemies

Just saying if you have the knight set the people in this area are wearing you can walk everywhere without any problems to get the shield

If you're mystic spearhand, you can use the move that can throw small enemies and pull the guard away from the door and then grab them and run them down the hallway

You Don't Have to be Quick you just need to remove her head no matter what, the head Decays when you use her Power As her Power is what is keeping the head Still Alive.

I think the guard thing was patched. I pick up the guard and toss her in a room but she teleports backs and I can't reach the vaukt

The bow is not worth the exp boost. It's quadrupled stamina cost which makes it so you can never actually take advantage of the exp boost unless you run solo or fight trash you can one shot cuz your pawns will be stealing all your kills.

When I read the description of the shield I got in the vault, I KNEW it was going to help with the Medusa Fight. So many videos that cover the Vault don't even mention how important the shield is.
