What? Middle-earths biggest problem is Morgoth, Sauron and all of the darkness that spawned from them. Some elves have done some shitty things ( *cough* Feanor *cough* ) but saying that the elves as a whole even come remotely close to Sauron and Morgoth is a load of crap. Also, Talion is more of a victim of Sauron than of elves. Eltariel and Celebrimbor screwed him over (though I sympathise way more with Eltariel), yes that's true, but the reason behind their actions leads, again, back to Sauron, who had Talion killed and sparking off the games in the first place.

This only tells me you have only played the games loosely based on Tolkien's work and not actually read any. To think a character like Talion is above the likes of Sam, Faramir, Aragorn or Gandalf just to name a few obvious ones but then there are Galadriel's brother Finrod, Elrond's father Eärendil, and great grandfather Huor. All vastly superior in nobility and honour compared to Talion.

not really, the timeline of the game is shadow wars where talion defends Mordor for decades and then he gives into to the ring (this dlc), becomes a full Nazgul for a while but he has bought time for middle earth and then gets the true ending :) you have to remember that talion likely won't age anymore and the only other character is an immortal elf

Dylan Lewis well there is a reason for both the Armor change and time gap first the Armor throughout the game each time you fight a Nazgûl your original Armor and weapons change for example after fighting helm your bow changes to helm’s hammer and acharn changes after fighting Isildur second there is a time gap because there is quite a distance between barad-dur (where talion obtained Isildur’s ring) and minas morgul although the game only mentions time jumps twice each time you visit a region there is a time jump for example Sauron starts the siege of minas ithil shortly after the new ring is made but one of the gondorians says the siege has been going on for a few months so it took talion a few months to get from mount doom to shelob’s lair and then to minas ithil

Keep in mind that until the One Ring was found and the Fellowship was formed, Celebrimbor and Eltariel using the New Ring to try to dominate Sauron was Middle Earth's only hope of stopping him. He's been boring since the start of War though. He was better in SoM, but in War he's just a boring emo dude that's bickering Celebrimbor at the first hour.

Zeus Total War Talion had literally fuck all character development in War. The most is him and Celebrimbor disagreeing about saving Minas Tirith, but after that there really isn't much. They mostly just bitch at one another and the buddy cop routine they had in SoM is pretty much gone. He and Celebrimbor are just both kinda assholes. Him becoming a Ringwraith wasn't a development because his moral compass had already been lost since he and Celebrimbor decided they would enslave and terrorize the Orcs. I'm sorry, but Talion is not really liked in the community. I remember how many people bitched about his stale emo aspect since SoM, and people are only saying they like him now because they don't want a game with Eltariel (Even though the story was NOT the reason anyone played these games) Eltariel did have a character arc, and arguably a better one than Talion's, in Blades. Her progress is realizing that she's been a total asshole and learning to not be such an asshole. That's why she doesn't shank Talion at Gorgoroth, and that's why in the final boss fight she's urging him to resist the Dark Lord's power. Hell, when Celebrimbor escapes Mount Doom, she chooses to go after him rather than join the other Elve's exodus from Middle Earth, and that's a pretty big cultural sacrifice.

In the end, that is exactly what Talion was - a victim. A victim of Sauron, who ruined his life. A victim of Celebrimbor, who used him and threw him away. Even Galadriel saw him as nothing but a tool, and later - a threat. Only Eltariel saw something human in him, but by then it was too little, too late.

@The First Archangel On your female Nazgul point, It is also made clear that only something stronger than the One Ring or nearly as strong as it can free a Nazgul meaning that unless Celebrimbor has a twin brother who also likes to forge and joined him for lessons from Sauron than the ability to kill Nazgul is nonexistent in Middle-Earth. Not since the end of the first age would you have found anyone (excluding the few I'll mention later) with the strength to rival Sauron's willing to do so (meaning the Valar became classic examples of gods that don't do anything worth caring and no one else is strong enough) and the Nazgul didn't exist until deep into the second age. The only exception would have been some of the greatest men in Numenor but those would have been a more physical strength none of them would have been able to remove Sauron's hold on a Nazgul even though they could beat him in combat. Only Celebrimbor could because Sauron taught him to make rings for dominating others by guiding him in the creation of that type of ring during the creation of the rings of power. In short, Celebrimbor was the single creature that could challenge Sauron and he didn't make the one ring until he was with Talion. On a side not, They only took one of the rings from a single Nazgul. The other Nazgul was just banished temporarily.

If you read the Silmarillion, the Nine were not just Kings. Some were amazing Warriors, and sorcerers as well, not just Kings.

And that's what made me dislike her. Not the betrayal, not her overall holier-than-thou attitude. Both of those make sense for her character. It's the fact that the narrative acts as if her flaws don't exist and that she's in the right. The fact she doesn't even apologize to Talion cements it. I could have liked her if the story gave her actual development and acknowledged her flaws but it doesn't. This is NOT how you write a likable character.

yeah, the man literally wore a much weaker ring compared to celebrimbors (because it wasn't perfect and was technically controlled by the saurons ring) and still walked into minus morgul, kicked so much orc ass, and proceeded to beat the shit out of the nazgul and the witch king. Only for him to lose to plot because the game developers made it that way.

@@sekira4516 Lorewise there is no fucking chance Isildur is a ringwraith, because first of all the rings don't bring people back from death (Isildur died), and The Nine were created 1000 years before Isildur was born, and 5000 years before Hammerhand was born

The only reason I can think of is he might've been too corrupted for it. Otherwise taking off the ring may have killed him, he spent a lot of time between losing Celibrimbor and putting on Isildur's ring.

If he was given the new ring at this point he would have given it to Sauron. He was barely Talion anymore

Cristian Alber Surprisingly apparently the Eltarial skin was free with the update, I already had it when I started the main game and I don't even have the DLC.

you are aware this could be the next game's focus... Eltariel and Calebrimbor after the one ring is destroyed
