Would love to see a lower accessory floor that utilizes the space now left under the cargo area floor. A lot of people buy full-size SUVs to fit tall objects: it could be sporting gear, dog cages, large dogs etc. Every inch makes a difference. Going from 29” to 32” cargo area height would greatly extend the appeal. Going to 36” would make it a category leader.

So basically a CX-90 without the third row seats. How amazing Mazda!

It feels like a cx-90...yep it is without a rear seat :( looks great but allot of people wanted the size of the CX-60 with the H.O. engine.. well maybe next time. The question will be how the performance is compared to the MDX type S since the price is close to each other and if I spending this much money besides comfort I want performance.

oh my god ... the CX-90's third row cup holders are still there ...

They make it look sporty with bumper vents and colors but realistically this is a half assed move by Mazda. If it was sportier, they should have trimmed the rear a bit and dropped weight and retuned it. This is the cx-90 with minimal effort. They sized out a large portion of the mid sized target market to address a fraction of it. Wish you luck selling it at the same price of the 90

Probably buy the Genesis GV70 over this. Price is about the same, but more performance, better tech, and a nice interior. Was waiting for a more competitive model than this turned out to be.

The deal killer for me is not having rear door keyless entry and the external locks. Both the RX and MDX both have this.

I was really waiting for a large two row but also wanted something a hair cheaper than the 90. This is just out of budget like the 90 is unfortunately.

Mazda's North American Marketing needs some help. Anyway, the CX-60 will come to N.A. next year, as a 2026 MY, replacing the CX-5 as their "premium" compact CUV. Then you will have the CX-30, 50, 60, 70, & 90 for sale in the U.S. Hybrids for the CX-30 (maybe 40 as well? Coupe CUV?) & CX-50 will use Toyota's hybrid technology. The premium CX rwd-based CUV's will use the Mazda developed PHEV or the inline 6 w/mild hybrid. I love my CX-5 Signature. I have mixed feelings about their push to be premium or even luxury for 'less". No way I would by the CX-70 & 90 until perhaps the 3rd model year...if the bugs are all worked out by then. I'm curious to see how long the CX-5 will last...it was supposed to be replaced by the CX-50 by now. But Mazda will make a rwd based CUV to replace the CX-5, & if they are similar in price & quality...maybe in 2027 I might consider it. Even with a rwd chassis, however, making a better version of the CX-5 is a tall order. I only have 17k miles attm, so luckily, I'm not in the market. I'm still rooting for Mazda, as I have bought six of them since 2008. IMHO, they already were the "under the radar" brand that delivers great quality, reliability, driving dynamics, & great interiors. A brand new CX-5 Signature Model now lists at about $42k+...so the benefits of Mazda are losing their attraction as prices just keep skyrocketing. The equivalent CX-50 to the CX-5 Signature is the Turbo Premium Plus, & it will set you back by close to $50k O.T.D. I love the exterior on the 50, but the rest, not so much compared to my 5. When Mazda introduced the Mazda6 Signature, & then with the turbo, it was the best deal on any sedan, period, at around $35k. Same for the other turbo or N.A. vehicles. At the same time, it's no longer an "under the radar" brand...it's like the secret is out regarding how great Mazdas are...and it's hard to find any "deals" on their vehicles. The huge price cut they have already done for the CX-90 & 70, has hit new owners hard with respect to depreciation. Finally, I am tired of hearing that the CX-5 is so "old", the transmission only has 6 gears, it needs a total redesign, etc. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! All new 8+ speed transmissions have had quality problems...without much mpg improvement, either. Even Mazda's new 8-speed wet clutch is full of gremlins, which is understandable in year one. I won't even get started about the rubber band CVT's showing up in most other brands.. But I have never had a problem with any Mazda vehicles, and their much improved quality is one big reason I keep going back. Their new strategy is a massive roll of the dice...I hope they make it without losing any of their best attributes...guess we will see soon enough.
