The Song by Pyotr Leschenko, (1898-1954) the famous Russian/Moldavian artist, singer, performer and restaurant-owner, who emigrated and lived most of his life in Romania (Bukharest), where he was arrested in 1951. He died in prison in 1954. Pyotr Leschenko was immensely popular around the Russian, Ukrainian, Moldavian and Romanian people and soldiers, by his up-lifting and romantic songs, tangos and Gypsy-like style of performance.
