@@sarumano884 It’s not as if you’e dumb, it’s because you’re more adapted to cold waters and is “stronger” than your dog. If ur dog enters very cold water, it will take a long time to dry, making it vulnerable to a cough (example), but if a human jumps on cold water, it will dry faster, as there isn’t as much hair. If the dog had hydrophobic fur, like the hydrophobic feathers of a duck, it would have entered the water. Do some thinking!

Not depth checking is how I learned this lesson the hard way. I jumped into a shallow part of a river at night and broke my ankle. My friend's had to help me out of the area because we hiked in. When I finally got to the emergency unit I was met by my tending nurse and her first word's to me were " that's what you get for jumping into dark shallow water." 😠 Nice lady she was. Lol. I survived to tell the tale and a lot of other stupid mistakes I made over the year's. I'm glad your safe and having a great time. Take care.and enjoy!👍

I know the feeling. When I was around 14 - 16 I jumped off a church trying to roll like in the movies.... nope! Broke both of my feet and was in bed for like 6 weeks. 😂. I'm 39 now and I always have a good laugh at myself when reminiscing. Lol
@divergence_tiffanyramos43373 місяці тому
@@RepubliKING :🤣LMAO. I know it's not funny, but at the same time I was in hysterics over your demise. Sorry about that. Lol. I think jumping off of any structure might be a right of passage. An unwritten rule. An act to gain respect regardless of how messed up the outcome is. When I was 7 year's old I was into Superman. He was it for me. I had these bitchin Superman pajamas that my grandmother made for me. They were like a shorts type long sleeve jumper with a red cape that attached after you put the pj's on. It looked like something Superman would wear to bed. Lol. I wore those pj's everday and all day on the weekends. I was definitely cool. I also carried a lightsaber on my right hip. Yeah I know Star Wars has nothing to do with Superman but I was in my superhero/ spacehero ass kicking stage of life. 🤪 I told you I was cool. Well at least in my own mind I was. A kid down the street told me if I used a trash bag and jumped off the roof of my house the trash bag would act as a parachute and I would land just fine. So there I was on top of the roof in my stylish Superman pj's strapped with my lightsaber on my side and a trash bag in hand. I was Superman of the world. I whipped out the trash bag over my head and jumped. Needless to say the cape nor the trash bag worked. I did not fly nor parachute down lightly. I landed fast and hard broke my wrist and my lightsaber which really upset me because it was only a week old. I got up holding my arm and wrist to my stomach, tears rolling down my face and was in hot pursuit of the kid who gave me the stupid yet brilliant suggestion of trash bag's working as parachutes. I was furious. It wasn't because I broke my wrist. It was because my pj's ripped in the arse region and my lightsaber was busted. I was one pissed off 7 year old. Needless to say I survived that bright idea. Two weeks later while on my way home on the bus from school I was able to pop the kid in the mouth with my cast who suggested I use the trash bag as a parachute. In my defense he tried to trip me. I wasn't going down without a fight. He may have won the battle, but that day I won the war. ✊️ I got suspended for two day's for fighting. And grounded. I was so proud and it was so worth the punishment. I felt victortorious! Yess! So yeah. Like I said jumping off structures is a right of passage. Two broken ankles...Hell Yeah you earned your respect! That's Superhero/ Spacehero status!!😁💯👍.

I'm sorry, but anyone who doesn't have the brains to check the depth of a body of water before jumping in doesn't really deserve sympathy. The thought to check the depth should be the FIRST thought that comes to your mind before anything else. Survival of the fittest at its finest.
@divergence_tiffanyramos43373 місяці тому
@@tykeandjonsieshow3595 : I was a 15 year old city kid at the time it occurrd. I jumped in pools not rivers. I really had no idea of the consequences I would face. I was following what everyone else was doing to fit in. Obviously that didn't work in my favor and I was accountable for my actions. Like I stated in my original comment I had to learn this lesson the hard way. Hence why I acknowledged the Op of this short commending her on her decision to deprh check the water and the consequences of not doing so with a little humor to make her and other's smile. I never sought attention or anyone"s sympathy sharing my story. Simply put, I wasn't stupid. I was ignorant in not understanding how dangerous my decsion to jump was. Most kid's make mistakes when they're young. It's how we grow and gain an understanding of right and wrong so we don't make future mistakes. Assumptions are presumptuous.

There was what appeared to be a drop off where the shore began, but the lake was low so it was hard clay and not the sand of the actual Beach higher up. I assumed it was a large enough drop off to jump in as it appeared to have a little bit of a drop and we couldn't see the bottom as it was quite silty. I jumped in and it was about 2 ft deep. I kind of shocked my joints because I wasn't expecting to stop so soon. One friend said 2 ft deep! Followed up by a comment about my balls disappearing, or something like that.
