Truly an immortal GPU. Seriously though, I am still using it with a 1440p 144hz monitor and am very pleased with it. I think this further cements my decision to go Nvidia because you'll get the best of both worlds. You get DLSS which is only for the RTX cards which luckily I have one. And we can use fidelity FX. In the future wether a game supports DLSS only, or supports fidelity FX only, OR if it supports both it doesn't matter. My RTX card will support it all.

I was honestly not expecting it to be this good. Near the best DLSS 2.0 implementation quality at 4K/1440p but without introducing new artifacts like ghosting. They still need to figure out how to improve quality at 1080p, but other than that it seems very good.

It would be one thing if it has great image quality but it doesn't. It can be used for almost all platforms, yes but those platforms must also decide to incorporate it. Games are getting bigger and more resource hungry all the time and over time, newer and better cards will be needed to run them. People have been migrating away from older cards. And when they do, why would they want to choose cards that seemingly only play within the same lane that never takes the next step technology-wise? There's a massive difference though. Seen from a game developer PoV FSR increases the potential amount of costumers for your game as it makes it playable on hardware it wouldn't comfortably run on otherwise. DLSS 2.0 just makes the game a slightly faster or better looking on hardware that is already perfectly capable of running it. Not many extra potential customers in that. So from a developer PoV, and if you'd have to choose you would always go with FSR unless Nvidia is willing to pay you to develop the game for DLSS 2.0. @Frosty-oj6hw
@Frosty-oj6hw 2 роки тому
No doubt it will, but I wouldn't expect it to progress as far or as fast as DLSS. DLSS has a deep learning computer model behind it which you can train over time to give more accurate results by feeding it more and more sample data. This is why DLSS can do things like improve details in textures where as FSR cannot. In order to actually increase the detail of a scene you need some additional source of information and with DLSS you get that from temporal frames and from deep learning but with FSR it's just a flat algorithm that wont improve unless people re-write or tweak it.

About sharpening/scaling filters vs FSR: There's a whole plethora of upscaling/postprocessing algorithms to try in MPC-HC combined with MadVR, some of those (Jinc with anti-ringing for low load to NGU neural-based upscaling for high-end) definitely deliver much better output than what you'd get out of Premiere.. and you can apply shaders for extra realtime postprocessing. wouldn't be surprised if some of that tech ended up in both FSR *AND* DLSS.
