For those curious, the T.O.G is in the the second canteen inside the tank museum in Weymouth. Sadly its hidden behind a kids play area so its hard to see the side but you can still see the front, and yes, the play area is the length of the tank.

The tank museums in Bovington, A small town with an even bigger military outpost attached to it, about 20-30 minutes away from Weymouth inland. I believe it's been moved away from the play area so you can approach it up close nowadays.

He was spot on! The TOG II was developed from the ground up on the assumption of more trench warfare, but the design wasn't complete until 1943 so it was already completely obsolete and never entered production.

Yeah, he's right. 2.5% of 4 seconds is 0.1 seconds. 4 - 0.1 = 3.9 seconds. It's not much, but it's certainly faster.

there's a reason AAA games don't use mocap suits... it would fuck their budget into the ground... Final Fantasy 14 tried it and their budget was so heavily shafted by it, they forgot to make the rest of the game to the point hwere the entire game had to be scrapped and rebuilt from the ground up using standard by-hand animations just to keep it afloat then it became the second biggest MMO of all time (at times overtaking WoW to become THE biggest but not consistently enough to solidify its place) but.. it's a bit too late to go back and re-do the animations. Animated movies have hundreds of millions in budget and even they can't afford to be full mocap.

I mean, technically, AAA animation is better and more plentiful than Badger’s own work since EVERYTHING in a game is animated. But Badger has talked about his process before. He said that one of the benefits of his current job is that he doesn’t have tight deadlines and can work on whatever he wants no matter how trivial or unnecessary. If Badger decides to spend 100 hours animating a 5 second skit in a 20 minute video to perfection, he absolutely can. Whereas in a game development environment, one doesn’t have time to spend forever animating stuff because there’s countless other stuff to do and depends on other work being done first. Badger himself has said if he was solely living off UKposts ad revenue, he wouldn’t have the time to make his current high quality animations since ad revenue demands consistent and frequent uploads.

Yeah, quantum physics already is entertaining. I didn't say it's easy - conventional rules of physics break down on the quantum level, so the concepts you have to tackle are highly unintuitive. But it's entertaining! The concepts that you learn are so incredible in function and so universal in scope, that it's nothing short of an insult to call quantum physics boring.

@@antcommander1367 Most Britain-decendent nations use some degree of imperial. Metric is better for precise decisions but Imperial is a much easier measurement for imprecise human measurements. Anything rule of thumb is better with inches. Most nations have at least a degree of local measurements being used somewhere in the language.
