Makes you really wonder what would have happened if the 1800’s expedition didn’t kidnap the kids? There are plenty of other people this guy could have reached out to safely but he believed that he was chosen to help these people specifically. When it comes to the idea of sacrifice some it's kind of believed that you are to sacrifice everything for God. To do anything for yourself is selfish.
