I have been receiving questions about the difference between the Safari Series and Guide Series of Aqua Quest tarps. I finally have a chance to show you using the Safari Large Tarp and Guide Large Tarp. Both have excellent features, high quality attention to detail, and would make an excellent choice to bring on your next trip. But which tarp is for you? Watch to find out!

Excellent comparison and analysis of the different tarps. Based on your viedo I decided to get the OD green guide tarp for my hiking and "light weight" camping needs.

Sweet! I like Aqua Quest tarps quite a bit...I don't always carry them, but when I need a bit of a more sturdy tarp, I call their name!!

You provided a very good review / comparison of those two tarps. I have both of them and your comments and suggestions about them was dead on.

Thank you...they are great tarps...I do like both...tend to go to the Safari much more than the Guide series...a bit heavier, but I think better featured.

Thank you for this, very helpful video. It seems that for backcountry packing the Guides Tarp is likely preferable due to the lighter weight and packability. Much appreciated!

Glad it helped! I thought a comparison of these two would definitely be helpful. When I first started looking at Aqua Quest I was confused about the exact difference...this sorta proved what I was wondering about. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for your job! I just bought guide 10x10, which is advertised at 1.3lb and when I get home it's 1.5lb After talking to aquaquest, they explained to me that they have made modifications to guide and it has increased weight. They have offered to send me a 10x10 1.6 lb safari. I think an additional 0.1 pound justifies more robustness and more loops. Impeccable aquaquest service!

Interesting. Do you know what changes they made to the Guide? Hopefully a third tieout loop on the ridgeline. I love a 10x10. To me that is the most useful overall size for the bulk of shelter configurations. I have been happy with Aquaquest service too...I hope is all works out for you!
@oscar3088

@@outerlimitless The central loops remain at 1. There are no appreciable changes in sight. The same loops and reinforcements.

I hope that helped. I was always wondering about the subtle differences between the two, and I finally had a good chance to compare them both together. Which would you choose? I kind of wish the Guide Series had two more tie outs along the ridgeline...then that would become my preferred tarp, but the Safari series, although a bit heavier, is damn nice!

Yeah it helped a lot thanks I’ll probably go with the safari one, the extra reinforced loop areas are a huge plus to me

I use the 10x13 guide for my light weight canoe trips, for my hammock set up, I use the Safari 10x 13 when weight is not as much an issue, and I leave the king camo defender in my jeep as an emergency back up, I also have some of the 10x10 tarps and often outfit mine with dutch bling for use with my hammock set ups. Aqua quest is amazing, their dry bags are outstanding and waterproof backpacks are on target too. I am a big fan and have lots of their gear,

I like it windproof water proof UV resistant lightweight I haven’t used it in heavy rain but should be fine got the price wrong though on my earlier post selling for $35.99 a little pricier than I thought but I’m happy with it

Setting up a tarp with the longevity of it in mind is a good thing. I like the Colour of The Aqua Quest Safari and those extra loops to hang a light, clothesline etc make a big difference to me. extra weight is fine. It might be over me during winter camping. Thanks for another thorough review.

I think they have less loops on the guide version so that people don't overstress the fabric.

I have my ARAER water proof tarp it’s a 10 by 10 which I like and a few no name tarps for who knows some tarps I see are kinda expensive for a tarp I’ve found mid and sometimes low priced tarps are as good as the exspensive ones maybe not the ones your showing cause I don’t know their cost but my main one was $20 and the other are even cheaper like the hammock don’t have one just figured it’s more to pack great video 👍✌️

the difference between me and you is that i took my time to watch your reviews of stuff here in this clip, and you will most likely not take the time to watch my playlist JESUS JESUS JESUS . also i subscribed to your channel before you subscribed to mine.
