And the reveal. Humans are descendants of the Forerunners the builders of Halo. Johnson had a long life he was in his late 70s by this game. Chief definitely hurt from Johnson's death but he knows he has to keep moving. He felt the same about Captain Keyes and Miranda. Miranda was like a sister to him. Johnson and Captain Keyes were both very close with Chief and he was also very close with Miranda. Her mother made Chief a super soldier and its likely she grew up alongside Chief while he was in training. Chief knew Miranda ever since she was a little kid. I was happy to see this. Can't wait to see ODST and Reach. ODST is a bit different but its great in its own way. Reach is also a bit different and very emotional.

If you notice and look up at 41:51 , johnson actually scales down the cliff with a laser to cover you, its so cool that he helps fight the flood at the end. Also fun fact hes got a gene that makes him immune to flood infection, thats how he survived the first halo outbreak

I don't think I've ever seen anyone as happy to play the mission Cortana as you were! A lot of people tend to be negative towards it, but I feel like it has a lot of character and atmosphere, and it looked like you really dug it. Glad you enjoyed this game - three Halo games down, only at least five more to go!

It's actually nice to see that you enjoy Cortana as much as you do. To be honest I used to hate this mission but I've come to appreciate it over time. The Gravemind moments are often slept on because of how much they interrupt gameplay and I can understand why. However, while a lot of what he says is very cryptic, if you actually figure out what he's talking about he gives you a lot of really important information that pays off later. For example in the very first moment he speaks to you as if he knows you and ends it off with "a father's sins pass to his son" indicating that he is holding you responsible for a past event you weren't present for. Something so big he can't forgive you for it. While it doesn't make much sense just yet this is building up to the bombshell Guilty Spark drops in the next mission. Humanity is directly descended from the Forerunners. The builders of the Halo Array. The Gravemind knows this. He has known this from day one. As has Guilty Spark. At the time this twist was absolutely jaw dropping.

Loved the playthrough and seeing your reactions to everything. This was honestly one of the lower ranked halo games for me although I know everyone loves it, my friend and I weren't even trying and beat it in a couple nights, too short of a campaign for me. Can't wait to the next one

Nice playthrough ♥️ Halo 3 marks a fitting "end" to the classic halo trilogy, whereas halo 4 is more like an "epilogue" to Chief's story. Some people don't like how 4 focuses on the relationship between Chief and Cortana, but given that you seem to like that, i think you'll love it! I highly recommend from here playing ODST, Reach, then Halo 4. (We don't talk about Halo 5 and Halo Infinite; just like how the modern call of duties don't compare to black ops and MW, the last few Halos have been almost insultingly bad, changing characters' personalities, etc.. But that of course is just my opinion 😅)

The final level is one of my favourite in the entire series, I've replayed it so much just for that last Warthog run. Right near the end before the frigate there's actually a hidden Grunt off to the side who has some funny dialogue if you find him; of course doing so means you miss your exit and die, lol. Very much enjoyed this, Halo 3 is also one of my favourites as well. ODST is very much underrated and I am so looking forward to it!

Also I know I already made a comment on this video but I'd like to add that the fall of High Charity took less than a month. 28 days to be exact if I remember correctly. 28 days to infect every single living thing on board (several BILLION members of the Covenant) and transform it into the disgusting mess you see now. If that doesn't speak to the Flood's horrifying capabilities I don't know what does. It also proves that infecting Earth would've been a cake walk had it not been for the Elites quickly realizing where the ship that broke quarantine was headed and immediately following it.

Juliette, i am beyond happy that i was able to watch you experience Halo 3 and all its amazing moments. Your reaction to Chief and Cortana being alive at the end made me emotional as well. These characters are VERY easy to get attached too, and that just gives props to how awesome the developers were in making them. I very much love your commentary, and i am so excited to see how you might like Halo 4 if you decide to play it. Again, keep it up!☺️

The “Cortana” mission on Legendary was difficult to get through. It was like the Library 2.0. 😂❤️

There’s a hidden cutscene at the very end if you completed the game on Legendary difficulty. Hope you react to it Juliette because in that cutscene, it shows the ship drifting towards a planet foreshadowing what’s to come. ❤️😊. That’s it.

Whoo, the end of Halo 3. Now this special. Which means some special facts around this fantastic franchise. Congrats. By finishing the 3rd game, you have earned your official Halo fan badge. Personally, you met the quota after Halo 2, but I didn’t write the unwritten rules. I'm happy I could be here to watch it all. Nuff' guff, onto the facts. I think we’ll start with a cute one. Sorry for length, as usual. Fact 1. While we don't see them in the original few games, Chief and his sudo siblings in the Spartan-II program developed their own sign language. These developed before augmentation, but were much more personal after they got their armor. One such example is that when in their armor, Spartans will knock into each other. Now, to a normal human eye it’s not noticeable. But to Spartan-II, this is how they convey worry or want to know what one in particular thinks. Then the cutest one of all is the Spartan smile. It’s where a Spartan takes a finger and draws a smile on their visor. Their is also a version were a Spartan draws on another's visor. This has been dubbed by fans as the: Spartan Kiss. Fact 2. During the mission Cortana, you actually pass through some of the rooms you did in Halo 2, during the missions on High Charity. But even then the Flood had already began to convert the city with it’s funky gunk. Fact 3. Through out the events of the first few books and games, despite what the games convey, Chief didn’t trust Cortana very much. He spoke to her as if she was simply specialized equipment, more then a friend. Even disregarded advice or strategies she gave him. However, after the books and games, she had spent a considerable amount of time in his head-literally-and even managed to protect the lives of Spartan siblings. These made her something more then just vocal streams of data to him. Fact 4. During the mission: Cortana, you hear fragments of a one sided conversation. “”Can I speak with you?” “What’s your name?””You like games? So do I.” While the subtitles read as Cortana, this is actually from the mouth of Dr. Cathrine. Elizabeth. Halsey. These are from her initial meeting with a then six year old John-117. You can also hear Cortana say. “It was the coin’s fault. I wanted to keep you safe.” This is because During her initial meet, Dr. Halsey played a game to test John. One side had a bird, the other a man. She flipped it eleven time, he guess right nine time. When it was over, she let him keep the coin. He was the first child selected as Halsey wanted to set the parameters for the capture process. John, however, was the only one SHE met with one-on-one. Hence her and Cortana's trust and value in him specifically. Fact 5. The whole “It was the coin's fault. I wanted to keep you safe.” line, references the promise Cortana made to John after their initial meeting/training. Their first test included a squad of ODST special forces, high explosive landmines, an air strike, and armor piercing auto turrets. These were compliments of Dr. Halsey's long time rival, Colonel James Ackerson. By the end of the test, John coughed up blood, and only survived because of Cortana and the new capabilities of his new armor. But Cortana, seeing it all as the blatant attack on Chief and her's life that it was, and discovering for herself what Chief was. The kidnapping, indoctrination, the war, his entire service record. She promised him-not directly to his face-that she would do what ever it took to protect him. Starting with Ackerson, Cortana falsified payment records from a brothel off world, and sent them to his home, resulting in a nasty divorce. She also falsified his transfer papers back to the frontlines of the war, resulting in his capture, torture and death during the Covenant's initial assault on Earth. Good riddance to bad trash. He was a more despicable human then Halsey. Fact 6. During the Voi memorial at the end. The three surviving Spartan-II members of Chief's Blue Team were present. I personally believe that one of them is responsible for carving the 117 we see. Fact 7. Sergeant Major: Avery, Junior, Johnson, at the time of his untimely-and frankly undeserved by writing standards-demise was over 70 years old. Due to a super soldier project long before Spartan-II, the Orion project, he managed to live and fight longer then any other human could. Due to extensive gene manipulation and therapy, he looked and fought like some one in their thirties at minimum. However, due to traitors and defectors, mental and physical issues, the Orion project became defunct. And Johnson was placed back into active mainline service. These augments were also what caused the Flood to consider him to costly to infect in Halo: CE. Halsey even gave Master Chief a choice after his report about the Flood. It was mostly just a morality test, but she had two reports made. One validated the possible future threat that the Flood posed to humanity. And that if sent, the government would probably take Johnson away for testing to reproduce his immunity. The second omitted Johnson's personal luck against the Flood. Chief chose the latter, fearing what would happen to him if his immunity reached ONI.

Great to see you finished the fight! It is a very nice conclusion to this trilogy. Gravemind was talking a lot crap to Chief throughout the last few missions. "Armored Casket" "The Coffin," he is mocking Chief's role as a Spartan. They live and die in their armor. The next two Halo games are a bit different. Halo 3: ODST for example takes place during the events of Halo 2. If you read through some of the hidden terminals, it gives context to events long before the Halo games place in the timeline. The terminals are found on the "The Ark" and "The Covenant," and then the last terminal is on the last mission, "Halo." It's too much to explain here. It's basically the recorded history of the final moments leading up to and after the firing of the Halo's.

Are you plannin on watching the extended halo media, cus i listed a bunch of stuff that should ideally be watched before getting to Halo 4 on the post i made a while back, dunno if you remember that, but just thought it might be handy if you were looking to watch the stuff other than just the games, great playthrough though Jules! You somehow missed the extra little cutscene after the actual ending. I would watch it, play ODST, then watch the Halo 4 reveal teaser before continuing. It was honestly so enjoyable to watch you play one of my favorite stories of all time. The Cortana mission was extremely rage-inducing. I’m happy we got her back, but the difficulty of the mission was uncalled for. I mean seriously, if I struggled on Normal I pity the poor soul who does it on Legendary.

3 is basically the climax and pinnacle end of the series. So I don't think too many people would be heart broken if you did not want to play the others.

No, you didn't do everything possible, you didn't traipse down every tunnel, see every "clue", or explore every hidey-hole - but Who Cares!?! I was curious how many games there were after Halo 3 and was surprised to see a Halo 4, 5, and 6. I thought it was all remakes and spinoffs after 3. It's funny how little attention I paid the Xbox consoles after they stopped releasing exclusive RPGs.

If you want to know how Cortana faired being trapped on High Charity with the Gravemind. Read the first Halo essentials novel or listen to the audiobook because there's a short story that covers that.

In the beginning cutscene of “Cortana”, the Arbiter will fly alongside with Chief in another banshee if you have a co-op partner. 😊❤️

Remember when I mentioned one of the levels being a repeat of The Library from Halo 1, well now you played the Cortana mission & it’s just as repetitive as the Library 😂 At least the final level was really rewarding & it’s a nice callback to Combat Evolved’s finale with my 2nd favorite ending in all of Halo, & plus, I think you’ll love Reach after that ending, literally my number 1 favorite Halo game of all time

I think your playthrough was missing the music on two of the most important parts to have it, the two scarab battle and the worthog run. I wonder if they broke it in the last update.

I’ve always thought the ending of H3 was great, but never regarded it as an exceptional tearjerker 😂 I wonder how you’d even process some of the game endings that actually make me cry too 😩 A superb ending to a timeless classic. Onwards to ODST! By the way, if no one’s mentioned it, you’re also cleared to watch the Anime anthology Halo Legends, also a must-see in my opinion

With the end of 3, this was Bungie's last outing on the Master Chief saga until 343 took the reigns on 4 and so on. You can tell they did have plans for their own 4, but circumstances with Microsoft resulted in Bungie wanting to branch out with a new IP that would become Destiny, which spiritually still has Halo's soul and world-building even if the story lacks. Highly recommend you check out ODST and Reach as well before moving on to 4 if you want to know more about the events of 2552 outside of the perspective of Master Chief. Also make sure to check out your character customization for Reach, your Spartan will carry over into the campaign if you want to show your own flare. Otherwise, stick to the default for a lore accurate Noble 6.

I love the concept-art like intro screens to some of the levels like at 0:20 and 35:27. It paints a pretty picture of the surroundings without having to expend much technical capability. 48:19 RIP Johnson(He knew what the ladies liked🥲). Ever since Guilty Spark showed up in H1 I've nursed an irrational anger towards him because of the way he flits around cheerfully and exalts himself("HmMm I'm A GeNiUs") in the "Library" level(like,I'm tryna survive here,you lil goof,some help would be appreciated🤣). Also,I don't know if you're planning to read the books at some point,so here's a rather vague fun fact regarding Johnson: He was the only person to be present both at the start and end of the Human-Covenant War. GS's little speech starting from 48:36 onwards is quite important to the lore surrounding Humanity and the Forerunners.If you have any confusion regarding that moment do tell and I'll try my best to clear it up. In the level "Cortana" it was originally planned for the Chief to pass through the Mausoleum of the Arbiter(from H2) and then for him to be attacked by the Flood infected bodies of the previous Arbiters who had been entombed there. In the end it was abandoned due to time constraints,I think. Lastly,the music starting from about 56:30(colloquially dubbed the "Warthog Run" music) is some pure gold from Mr.O'Donnell. That man has produced some music that,I feel,is quite unique in quality at least in the gaming sphere. Have a nice day

A little game recomdation! Endling: extinction is forever. The game is about a mother fox were you have to survive a mass extinction. :) (Do you have like advice for halo? In combat?)

Halo 3's story is not as strong as 2s. But its definitely still a classic. Ill never forget playing it as arbiter along side my brother and finishing the fight. The brutes dared call me traitor! Lol I HIGHLY reccomend playing halo 3 ODST next before Reach or 4. ODST takes place during the covenant attack on earth in halo 2. You can even see masterchief make the jump with truth in the frigate at the very start of the game. And the story is JUST as strong as halo 2s. With the twist that you are a marine, and not a spartan Its my favorite halo story. Odst is a must play Just quick tip for odst. The smg can fire zoomed in unlike the regular one in odst. And the pistol is ONLY good against unarmored targets, dont go in gunsblazing marine!

Trilogy ends as it started, in a cryotube. The chief sleeps again until he is called upon once more.

They made quite a poetic ending. Your journey starts coming out of your cryo tube and it ends going back in. This will always be my personal true ending to Chief's story. I consider Halo 4 onward to be fanfic. xD

Also, in the original credits of Halo 3, at the very end. Bungie showed off every comment from every employee that worked on the game and trilogy. 🥲❤️. And all of them were really sweet. Still, I wish there was an ability for you to watch the credits without getting the physical disc and or an Xbox 360. 😄.

How come the music was so quiet?

Not trying to dissuade you by any means but (Halo 1-3, ODST & Reach) were all developed by Bungie and, in my mind, are the best Halo has to offer. Halo wars has a cool story but I ain’t a fan of the gameplay, this game was developed by another company but overseen by Bungie if I’m not mistaken. So just know, any games beyond Reach in release order was developed by 343 industries. This company took over development of Halo once Bungie’s contract of five Halo games for Microsoft was met. So, if you notice a general drop in quality or find it doesn’t even have the same vibe as previous bungie era titles then that is why. I’d still recommend playing Halo 4, 5 and Infinite cos to me when I replay them it highlights why I adored and always will cherish the original Bungie games. But yea… that being said my head canon is that Chief and Cortana are still adrift in deep space waiting to be found.

Honestly? Yes, 3 is the perfect conclussion to the series and ODST is just a side story, Reach is a prologue. Both really worth a playtrought and don't affect the ending at all. Its really up to you if you want to try the new trilogy (4 onwards) because in my opinion it just feels inferior in all senses to the first trilogy, but again its up to you.

Bueno este final me gustó pero la historia del jefe maestro continúa en halo 4 pero te recomiendo que juegues halo 3 odst ya que sinceramente me gusta más que halo 3 te va a gustar mucho somos unos simples soldados que tratamos de sobrevivir al infierno del Covenant en nueva Mombasa te aseguro que lo que se viene será mucho mejor
