I think that Anna Wintour should do more press about the Met Gala and her exclusive fashion events because I never know why she does these events and I am interested in fashion. I would love to know why she does the thing that she does. Because she is the high priestess of fashion and the ultimate cool girl. Also, I love that they didn't mention Kim Kardashian for best dressed because she wasn't.

This year was probably my favorite of the Met - Rihanna always brings it, Zendaya, Lana del Ray, Chadwick Boseman- RIP, Blake Lively, Ariana Grande, Amanda Seyfried, SZA oh! there were a bunch more who really killed it that year.

I was really surprised no one was "outraged" by the theme.

Two things: 1. My fave look of this year’s gala was from Kate Bosworth, who wore what I interpreted to be Mary Mother of God/girl having her first communion. 2. I am glad that Scarlet Johansson wore a dress by Marchesa. Georgina Chapman was not the abuser, Harvey Weinstein was. Georgina should not be vilified for the abhorrent behavior of her husband. I’m glad Scarlet wore Marchesa’s design in support of Georgina. The ‘MeToo’ movement is really loosing its credibility if they are now attacking people who are actual allies of the movement.

In the end, Zendaya and Cara Delevingne were best dressed. There is a fine line between being in a theme and dressing as a theme. Rihanna will forever be the queen of the Met Gala for her 2015 and 2017 looks, but her look this year was like dressing up for Halloween. It was like “what is the theme? Alright, I’ll dress like that, and as exuberant as possible, so everyone sees me.” This is what Lagerfeld managed not to do with Chanel: falling into the clichés. Because then it’s just costuming, and not really dressing for a theme. At the Met, you can ask for the best high fashion there is, round looks, that are thought out and on point to the last curl of hair. Looks that embody quality, real style. Last year and in 2015, Rihanna did that. She wore great clothes, perfect looks, and original touches. Gigi Hadid’s look from last year is another perfect example: the train being in diagonal with the side of her head where the hair was let loose, and on the other just the leg with, in diagonal, sleek back hair and no sleeve. Everything was calculated, the colours, the roundness, it was such a perfect look. But this year, Rihanna was just a girl on a costume party. And don’t get me started on those other people who now have extremely lots of money, and buy the most expensive things what have no style whatsoever. The cheapness was popping, indeed. But then, this year, and last year, Zendaya and Cara really killed it. Zendaya is the one I adore because she always is so refreshingly creative. Changing hair, people’s perceptions, not portraying a theme, but a philosophy, a way of being, a certain type of person she embodies that evening, and has her own story, beauty, opinions, life. She will never follow the rules, and still forever be superior to all those celebrities who pay for followers. Cara, on the other hand, is extremely bold. Her 2017 silver skull look was certainly the best red carpet look I’ve ever seen. She just always is so intriguing, because though we don’t know what she wears, we always stop because it is beautiful, as strange as it may seem. Cara’s look this year was just as good: extremely freeing, showing lots of skin, but everything under a net, actually not showing anything, being very “catholic”. Sad, that Anna isn’t seeing the best dressed.
