Apple trees from Cuttings? (still a work in progress)

8 місяців томуBrand new 2023 video showing a more detailed version of the old (2022) video on how to grow apple trees from cuttings. I've been attempting to grow apple trees from cuttings for 2 years now and despite knowing that MOST varieties don't take, apple varieties grown on THEIR OWN ROOTS are the best candidates. Sadly, summer drought has taken its toll on the cuttings that did root, but I keep trying.

tried this twice , 30 each time no luck here , have started to grow from seed which is pretty easy and plan to graft to these instead still inexpensive and a much higher success rate . all the best.

Yes, seed is a good way to get rootstocks, or taking sets from rooted suckers. I wanted to try cuttings, but so far its been a thankless task.

Some things are very rooty, like Elderberry, willow apples not so much.

Take fig cuttings and stop being frustrated

farmers are breeding apple trees for centuries and it is advisable to follow what they do instead of wasting one's time. apple stoolbed method is proven to be good one to grow rootstock.
