WARNING! A sense of humor is required for this video.
What happens when half the math class returns from a school trip? Well obviously, they get pranked by the remaining students and their teacher. What else could there be?
Remember that playing gags is an artform. It must be done with love in your heart. This scene taps into a universal fear we all share: the feeling of being completely and utterly lost, while EVERYONE around you totally understands.
Having said that, witnessing half the class slowly lose their marbles is straight-up HILARIOUS.
And, YAY MATH!
Learning should always be fun and connective. Please visit www.yaymath.org for:
• all videos
• free quizzes
• free worksheets
• debut book on how to connect with and inspire students
• all-in-one math courses that teachers and parents can use, backed by Yay Math energy

I love when the student said, "This is all Chinese to me". I thought the teacher was going to respond, "Actually ... look closely, this is plain English". This is actually a good testiment of how great this teacher is. No student was affraid to ask questions AND almost everyone spoke up asking for clarity. It's a sign of a great teacher who can breed such participation in their classroom.

This is literally how math felt like in high school haha. But I really love the fact that your students weren't scared to ask a million questions and also express they don't "get it." I feel like when I was in high school, a lot of people would just say nothing and try to figure it out after class or suffer in silence rather than admit they don't understand in the middle of a class of their peers. I thought it was funny that he actually lied about it NOT being real. 🤣😇. I was a straight A Engineering student at UT (hook em!) and aced AP Calculus in high school. I guess he didn't wanna scare and scar them with unnecessarily showing them how much deeper the rabbit hole goes. He got a couple minor details wrong like the equation for rise over run, but the overall concept of "sum" or sigma in math is still the same. It's used to find the area within a graph curve or can be altered to find the volume of an oddly shaped object. It can be applied in fields such as statistics or probability for protecting the future outlook of a certain industry or product, in architecture, civil and mechanical engineering, rocket science, and the like... I almost had a panic attack from ptsd flashbacks when he wrote the letter "i". Just Google what are i's in math, I dare you.

Life is so much more fun if not taken too seriously all the time. With a balance of seriousness and humour doors of opportunity continue to open throughout your life making you not only successful but importantly happy too as well as being an inspiration to others. This example showed how teamwork bonds people together which makes life so enjoyabe.

I had one college math course where I earned a 98% overall grade, 100% on the final. Next semester I enter the next math class and was so confused. I had an idea of what was happening but not enough to do well. I finally started coming up with the correct answers but through a different method. We were given a pop quiz on the second day of class and had to show our work. I failed even though the answers were correct. I failed for not using the same method to get to the answer. I was pissed. Then the professor tells the entire class that 80% of us failed, we're all stupid and going nowhere in life. I packed up and went straight to student services. Sadly, I now realize that's when I stopped attending classes. I should have been stronger and not let one lousy professor kill my joy and motivation.
