Of course people used stones like that for walls to keep sheep in and to build huts etc. They ate their sheep and the native deer and cooked them there their homes would a also be made of stones. We read that the people had chosen to serve the Lord in verse 21. Today we have the same choice, choose to serve and follow God, hence receiving eternal life. Or choose to serve the world and die without salvation. He also mentioned the geographic setting with mount Ebal in close vicinity of Shechem as beautiful. Because this was an important place with the altar elevated on mount Ebal where the sacrificial offerings of Lambs took place. It foreshadowed the atonement of Jesus Christ, sheeding his blood for the foregiveness of our sins. Our the hope for salvation.

It's origin being an area where these curses are found normally. Now anyone who knows archeology, digging through piles of dirt that have already been removed from the site and sifted once prevents accurate dating. THe fact the dirt was from an area where these things are found regularly and there is nothing special about their dating casts massive doubt on his claim of several hundred years earlier The findings have not been peer reviewed and the so called archeologist is not respected within the field. He is a pastor that is out to prove the bible, so he has in the past made multiple claims of 'bible proof' which when reviewed are bunk. In other words he's a fraud. There are multiple archeological articles about this find and it's lack of credibility and how the archeologist on this is considered a fraud. Since he found it in a pile of already sifted dirt from previous digs the likelihood is he dug it up somewhere else and threw it in the pile to be discovered. But that's just my speculation.

True. My argument is events produce records not otherwise. Oral tradition/testimony is sufficient proof for the believers. Even if there is contemporary written records, its correctness can be assailed . Eg. Did the Russians help Trump? Trump's opponents believe he was, though the Inquiry report does not say so. Their argument is it doesn't exonerate Trump. One believes in what one wants to- written evidence or not.

In Deuteronomy it talks about the curses on the hill. It talks about the altar, about the sacrifices, about our God. Now we have the context of the curses on the stone from that time and we have Gods name who they said wasn’t made up for another thousand years. Which means Deuteronomy was wrote first hand! Well skeptics can’t have that because their are prophecies in detail that came true a thousand years later!!! As well, that means they were in the exact place they should have been after Egypt according to the Bible !!! Skeptics say they weren’t lead out of Egypt for 200 more years after that but here we have a ton of proof they were truly on the Bible timeline.

If you destroyed every religious book in the world people may try to rewrite them but they would never be as they were before, changes and new story's would be added it may even turn out totally different. But if you destroyed all the books in the world about science eventually they would be re discovered and re written exactly as they were before because science is real and provable and never changes. But religion is man made and has no tangible evidence that can be used to reconstruct it's writings. Religion written by corrupt men to control man it's as simple as that!

why would an invader tear it down rather then take it over? a watchtower has no sentimental significance to be destroyed in order to break the annexed peoples spirit, also a watchtower by nature is built to be quite a bit taller than the ground and it couldn't possibly be buried less you hill up earth around it, witch was not the case here
