The guy that plays Tom should get an Emmy. To play such an awful character in a way that makes me kind of like and feel sorry for him, must be really hard. I don't think many other actors could do it.

Nicholas Braun’s ability to constantly stutter when he speaks as Greg is so oddly satisfying and incredibly impressive to me. It’s like he’s in a never ending state of anxiety and I love it.

You'd expect more aggressive emphasis like "...well, i Shouldn't be, Greg." but instead he underplays it so hilariously "... ... well i shouldn't be, greg." it's like so accepting but embarrassed but disapproving/disappointed but also it's a code switch to his more cordial persona. Nothing to do with the accent, which is perfect as always but i can feel his Britishness in the delivery. Chef's kiss. No moment played forgettably. Elevation.

the one thing that separates Tom the most from almost every character in the show is that, while he might be a terrible prick, he still values a human connection. all the Roys in the show dont really seem to appreciate a human connection and came out demented cus of it (ie Roman with Gerri). Tom didnt come from that fucked background tho and still expects to find some warmth in the cold heartless void that is the Roy family. Shiv might love Tom, but isnt properly equipped to nurture that love. thats where Greg comes in. While Greg is his underling its still a relationship with a push and pull. Tom has status but Greg has the name. They both have something to gain from each other so theyre basically on the same level. But Greg also comes from the normal world which means he knows that there is an intrinsic value in a friendship with Tom, which is something Tom is starved for. So theyre the only two people in the show who are willing to give to one another in a relationship without getting in return. thats why i love them.

all their scenes are this curious mix of power and trust: it's like they want to believe in each other 'cause if they don't, no one will. the comedic nuances and the line deliveries in both parts just connect to result in one of (if not THE best) dynamics in a tv show, ever. the writing is killer, the acting is exquisite and UGHHH the slow development of affection from s1 to s3 is fucking amazing. 10/10 pairing.

Im obsessed with the way Tom takes Greg under his wing. From episode one Tom knew that he would be a good person to have on his side... he's Roy blood, impressionable, ignorant and willing to do what he's told to be brought in. It was a genius catch by Mr. Bond aka Tom.
